I picked up 25 pounds of hulled barley for a bit over $25.00. Normally it is $30.00 for 25 pounds but I subscribed to it to get another in 6 months. I may change that to get another in 2 or 3 months. One dollar a pound is a great price for grains.
I have some new Mylar packs that have a pleated bottom that hold 4 cups of material. Sealed up with oxygen absorbers you can put quite a bit of grain into long term storage. Out of the 25 pound bag I filled 13 bags with 4 cups of barley each and put the rest into a half gallon mason jar for normal use.
It pays to be cost efficient with our purchases. Especially when creating a stockpile of food.
