Who does quality barrel threading?

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

All NFA laws apply.

Who does quality barrel threading?

Post by OJB4 »

I'm in South Louisiana and looking for somebody that does good barrel threading with a reasonable lead time. Does anybody have any suggestions?

I'd like to have my bull barrel Savage 17 HMR done, Ruger 10/22 magnum (has iron sights....is this a problem?) and will need some pistols done in the future I'd imagine. I don't have much of anything threaded except a few 22 pistols, an AR .223 and a 10/22 I picked up at the last gun show. I plan on buying a couple pistol supressors for each caliber and will need to either buy guns, barrels, or have existing pistol barrels threaded if possible.

Do you guys find it is easier to just try and locate a drop in pistol barrel that is threaded or better to have existing ones threaded? I figure if possible I'd like to buy drop in barrels in case I should decide to sell the gun in the future I'd be able to put the original barrel back in the gun and sell the threaded barrel seperately. However, since I don't know costs for any of these services or replacement barrels I'm not sure which is the best route.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. If I'm going to be buying silencers for everything then I'm going to need a reputable company/individual to do any future barrel work for me.

Thanks in advance!

Ritten precision and red jacket are the only two I know of in LA. I would skip red jacket because they prolly have a two year wait. Ritten is new to the scene but from what I see he does quality work. Im not sure if he is doing pistolds are not but I would email him and see. Just google ritten precision and you will find his contact info.

I talked to Ritten yesterday (i'm also in Louisiana) looking to get a 10/22 TD threaded. He cannot remove or replace the sight on a barrel. Also, he' can't do a barrel less than 7 inches.

He can do it on an AR but not a 10/22. He said he doesn't have the tools to do it yet. BTW, i'm in Denham Springs.

I had my 10/22 magnum threaded by a local gunsmith in middle tn. He threaded and relocated the front sight for $100.

Try JP grips and machine. Good price, FAST, and good job. I maybe have 6-8 barrels he do for me and all perfect suppressed. Even did Special requests. :D
