ATF continued.......

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

All NFA laws apply.

luckypunk,I guess your forum name suits you.I want one.Ballpark it for me if you dont mind, thats a Colt so I know its gotta be more than usual.I still want one.And no,this is for anything that requires a Form 4 or 1,SBR,AOW,MG and silencer and the long(noy so long anymore) wait,I guess misery likes company :D so we share the wealth and the pain..I dont think weve had a DD yet even in the previous threads. Are you gonna post more pics of it on this forum.

It was sold as NIB 1974 A1 collectors grade, 14K.

I've played with it, dealer will even let me shoot the lower. I've tried the uppers I plan to shoot it with & it is very tight. no wobble, colors match (black) I am tickled about that. I hate sloppy lowers
this is a cut n paste when I first saw it:

First impression...Finish-wise the lower is rougher than my 6721, not nearly the smoothing out of toolmarks , and the rollmarking is quite shallow. The finish seems pretty dark, almost black, the upper might be the sandstorm grey. the upper/ lower is VERY tight & the gun is super light- but this is compared to my blinged out Megaforce special, so that might not be saying much. The whole package has a 70s feel to it. the accessories package has a parts list typed out on a typewriter Any oil that was on the gun has long since evaporated. buffer had a sludged up face, but otherwise the gun was drier than a popcorn fart.

This might be a Colt parts mutt. It has the early 3 prong hider but the later parked bolt/carrier w/ serrations. The "proper" carrier would be a chromed slickside carrier. but this is a Colt & they used what they had. The regular carrier Will be more versatile to swap into an A3 upper. The pencil barrel has C MP C but no twist indication. likely a 1/12 bullethose.

Bad news is that the transfer paperwork shows the gun in posession of the Ogden store so I gotta wait for a paper transfer to the boise store Roll Eyes before I can form4 it. Chad (dealer) felt so bad about that He is paying 1/2 of my transfer fee. Hellava nice gesture, and I'm not even sure it is his fault.

I definately want to shoot as-is, let it spill some varmint blood, and then MAYBE play dressup

Has anyone had a form 4 take more than THREE weeks to get to the dealer after it has been approved? Mine was approved March 29 and still my dealer says they do not have it.

I sent it at the end of march and I am still pending. Ghey.

Still, this gives me time to take care of my law school finals, so I suppose it all works out in the end.
