DDLES Issues
Anyone have issues with DDLES? I ordered a 9mm glock SBR over the summer. It took awhile for the lower to ship to my dealer. They still have not shipped my upper. This was not a cheap item and I think that it would not take 5 months to ship an upper. I tried calling and cannot get through. Any thoughts/suggestions?

Re: DDLES Issues
That sucks, not sure how to help you get a hold of them. I ordered a ddles 9mm lower (non-glock mag model) + vltor upper in early May of last year. I spoke to a really helpful guy by the name of Stuart. He told me flat out that they had a few lowers and uppers in stock. I ordered a set and they were shipped out next day. Getting a hold of anyone that sells anything firearms related over the past month or so has been pretty difficult (with a few exceptions)...last week especially with SHOT show going on.
Is the upper you bought theirs or are they stocking someone else's part?

Yeah, just remember that all gun makers and dealers are being swamped with orders, questions, etc while still trying to keep up with day to day operations.

Re: DDLES Issues
It took them 20 days to ship my glock lower. I ordered it 2 days after the shooting. I already have my SBR stamp in the works. I guess I should order the upper now since it will take so long......

Re: DDLES Issues
Everything I ordered was in stock at time of order according to Jon. I ordered it over the phone. They made a mistake on the selector markings, which delayed the lower shipping. Then I was told the barrel was not in stock so my upper would be delayed. I ordered this in the beginning of June. My stamp should (fingers crossed) be coming back in late April or May. I’m really starting to worry about my upper. It should have been here. It was a lot of money. Every time I call them I get a message that this message box is full. They do not reply to emails. Are they even still in business? I’m ready to contact the authorities and a lawyer. This lack of response is really upsetting. Not the way paying customers should be treated.

Yeah. It sounds like Jon's over his head. That's the same kind of stuff that I experienced. Not mistakes and re-dos, but delays around engraving and anodizing. It stinks too, because it's an awesome product.

Re: DDLES Issues
I ordered a lower from them in the middle of January and have experienced the same thing - they're generally not returning emails, phone calls, etc. However, they did email me back about adding custom engraving for my lower, saying they simply could not do it because of their volume and backlog.
As you probably know, they make their own lowers - that is one thing that they largely have control over. But of other things like the Vltor uppers, LPKs, bolts, etc., they're waiting for them just like us and everyone else. So, if you just ordered a plain stripped lower, there's a chance that you could receive it in a reasonable time. If you ordered anything more than that, you'll probably be waiting a while.
Here's a good thread: http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_3_15/60070 ... o_Jon.html There's a guy acting as a liaison between DDLES and everyone else. He's been able to get me update info and a couple emails back from DDLES. Supposedly, mine is "in production" and should ship soon. They're production cycles are two weeks for stripped lowers. They ship them out every two weeks.

Re: DDLES Issues
I finally found an upper in stock. A local guy was owed money by spikes tactical(he knows the owner and they had a deal) and spikes gave him tons of NIB 9mm uppers, 5.56mm uppers and 5.56mm bolts. I bought a complete spikes 9mm upper(minus bolt and CH) from him. Spikes receiver, spikes 7" bar rail, 5.5" 3 lug barrel. Send me a PM if you want his number.

Re: DDLES Issues
Thanks for the link DMY! Makes me feel better - I'm waiting for an update there. Its a lousy way for a company to treat its customers. I was told everything was in stock when I placed my order. My stamp will be coming back soon on the DDLES SBR lower and I have no upper to put on it.

I'm on day 426 which comes to 1 year 61 days.
Re: DDLES Issues
I ordered a free float barrel form my 9MM AR. When it arrived I could not get it to install in the correct position. I called and they told me I needed their tool. I bought it for about $40. Really annoying that they neglected to tell me this in the first place.
I get the tool and still having issues. I call and they say well you should have that tool and another tool, that only they sell...
I returned both items and bought another manufacturers rail, installed without issues and their tools.
I really felt like I was dealing with a shady back alley business and not a large prominent and reputable company.
