9mm subsonic ammo

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

9mm subsonic ammo

Post by LEON54 »

Does anyone know where to find any fiocchi 158g or new emcon 9mm subsonic ammo?
Or even decent 147g ammo? I can't find any anywhere.

I'd worry about that cycling the pistol...

I don't see a 124gr subsonic on their site....muzzle velocity of their 9mm Luger ammo was in the ballpark of 1150fps on their website (although it's listed in M/S, it's easily converted).

I have a 124gr subsonic handload that does just fine...no cycling issues. I don't see any reason why that Sellier & Bellot load wouldn't work just fine. I had a box of their subsonic load that was decent. Not as quiet as Fiocchi but works in a pinch.

124gr Hornady FMJ 9mm
3.6gr - 3.8gr Titegroup (Lyman's 48th Manual says 3.8 is also subsonic if 3.6 isn't quite enough for whatever your host is, but I'd start at 3.6)
CCI #500 Small Pistol Primer
OAL 1.125"

I have 2 147gr hand loads, one for FMJ (Hornady, etc) and one for plated (Berry's, Rainier, etc)
147gr FMJ
3.4gr Titegroup
CCI #500 Small Pistol Primer
OAL 1.135"

147gr Flat Nose Plated
3.2gr Titegroup
CCI #500 Small Pistol Primer
OAL 1.150"
