Suppressor’s Parts (Models) Miniatures

Yes, it can be legal to make a silencer. For everything Form-1, from silencer designs that are easily made, to filing forms with the BATF, to 3D modeling. Remember, you must have an approved BATF Form-1 to make a silencer. All NFA laws apply.

Suppressor’s Parts (Models) Miniatures

Post by pnl2012 »

I have started a new tiny project: Suppressor’s Parts (Models) Miniatures. From actual working Cans, scale them down to 50%, tune up the models for 3D Printing and go On-Line. The Shop is now 12 Parts. If it performs OK, I’ll grow it up with more models. What you buy is what you get at Home (the Miniature, check out dimensions when buying). Any suggestions/request is welcome. Link to the Shop follows:

Paul, what materials will you be using for printing and what machine?

Shapeways is an on-line 3D Printing Service: You take care of the Models and the Shop and they take care of Manufacturing and Logistics. For Material, depending on Model, you can select the one you’d like among several options: Plastics, Alumide, Silver, Gold, Stainless Steel, … For some of them, you can also select Color.

Hmm!

Could some enterprising BATF supervisor find a diminutive 'little person"
agent to knock at your door, flash his badge, his head at your belly button level, smiling
saying:

"Surprise! We never placed a minimum size on what constitutes suppressor parts dimensions.
And as has been shown by his Lordship, Sir Eric Holder, we can be as arbitrary and capricious
as we want when we whimsically nail your tiny puckered parts for the fun of it.
Oh, and being 'Noiseless' will be a welcome asset during the evening pajama parties
in Club Fed." :) :)

You are probably right; I’ve been told they recently closed several Home Depot Stores for selling Suppressor Parts in the Plumbing section :D

I've been told this is not legal and I'm surprised the person who told me had not chimed in on this yet.

I'd really be interested if large numbers could be equipped in 1/6 scale. I need to equip my army:

Paul,

Neat idea, but How will it hold coffee?

Seems the scoops are open and so is the bullet hole?

No, it’s fully sealed inside. I did make in a way that keeps the features visible. So, no holes at all; hot & quiet Coffee early in the Morning. Salt and Pepper dispensers are coming.

Very interesting on the stainless steel stuff. It seems like it's actually stainless powder + glue, but advertised good to over 1,500 F. It looks like the glue is either supplemented or replaced with Bronze. It's also machinable.

Very interesting in general!

Salt & Pepper dispensers (shakers) are ready now: Stepped & Fluted Cones (both mouth ported). Don’t forget to order the Cap to hold the “grains”:

Salt: http://www.shapeways.com/model/1081549/ ... Box-search

Pepper: http://www.shapeways.com/model/1081535/ ... Box-search

Tomorrow I’ll be working (¿?) on a tray to hold both plus some more goodies. Guess about the shapes … Thanks for the feedbacks and suggestions !, it's working so i'll keep moving forward !

Now, a nice and featured Tray for the Salt and Pepper shakers (add the FH to hold toothpicks and half cores to hold ketchup and mustard sachets). Quite expensive: http://www.shapeways.com/model/1083742/ ... Box-search
Thinking on more goodies like cutaways in 1/2 or 3/4 cuts. Or 3D Puzzles, …

Some more Goodies. This time cheap ones for the “Hattery” Section: Suppressor Covers (set of two. Rubber cord 5/32 diameter not included), like for the Rifle Scopes. Don’t get it wet when “raining” or just stow it and be sure there are no Bugs or dust inside, clean it and keep it clean, keep you rear cap threads safe, .... There are nine (9) OD diameters with 0.0025 tolerances available: 1, 1.062, 1.25, 1.375, 1.38, 1.5, 1.85, 2.0 & 2.5. Links:

My first attempt to make a 3D Printable Puzzle out of a MonoCore. Got the Parts and looks OK but still need to work on some details. I’m also trying to figure out how to print the parts as cheap as possible in 1 or two plates maximum. 3D Models are not the issue but the different format conversion times. It looks nice and doable, anyway. This one is 45 parts with guides to make it easier to assemble. Little Vid follows, the 3D printing model is not ready yet:
