I don't really have a reloading room so to speak anymore. I just moved out an old project and took a corner of my basement and really getting the area cleaned up. I've built shelves for storage and moved out a bunch of junk to get both my benches set up better. I'm looking for ideas to better make use of the space I have and just get better organized. Over the years I've seen some really cool setups as well as great ideas to really make things work better. But drawing a blank right now.
I'd love to see some pictures of other setups. I love the super anal retentive benches and just regular workbenches could give me some ideas as well. I've got the remaining equipment on order that I need to finally finish everything off that should be arriving this week. (Basically stuff I have now but just allow it to be done faster and better than before.) Now just need ideas to organize. I'll get some pics of what I'm working with now up soon.
Thanks!

And as long as you're getting rid of those cans you may as well send me a few of the guns you won't have cans for.
Space problem solved. You're welcome.

Re: Need ideas to finish off my dream reloading room.
I've been thinking of moving my reloading bench out from the wall like a T so I will have access to both sides. It is 48"x36" with a shelf below. Right now I do not get the best use of the entire space and stuff on the shelf gets covered up. Im pretty new to reloading so I still use coffee cans for brass and built my bench out of excess wood. It's cheap and ugly but it works. I have a similar gun cleaning/work bench opposite with the TV between. PM me your email and Ill send you a pic, I dont know how to post pics on here.

I usually don't frequent ar15.com but their "official reloading bench picture thread" is pretty awesome. It's fifty pages long and I found a lot of good ideas there. Good luck.

This is the last one I built, before paint.

These aren't my pictures, so I'll need to post some this weekend.
I used a set of cabinets that I pulled out of another room, and installed LED light strips on the inside (pointing down).

Re: Need ideas to finish off my dream reloading room.
I did my mounts a little different. Instead of using a piece of wood and mounting my Dillon strong-mounts to the wood, I drilled holes in the bottom flanges of the strong-mounts. To keep the "fingers" of the nut from hitting the mounts, I used pieces of steel tubing as stand-offs.Abiqua wrote:This is a great idea, thanks for posting.Libertarian_Geek wrote:I did went the T-Slot path.

Re: Need ideas to finish off my dream reloading room.
Additional notes.
Before installing the T-Slot tracks, figure out roughly where you'll most commonly mount your press(es) 80% of the time, and mark and mill "bolt head entry spots" that won't interfere with the bolt pattern of your mounts.
I used 3/4" plywood as a table-top, then liquid nailed a 3/4" sheet of MDF onto the plywood. I then used a router to dado for the T-Slot rails.
On one of the other sites, they recommend making these dados at increasing depths. The MDF cuts great, so I just set the depth once and made two passes per dado (to get the proper width).
If you have multiple benches/cabinets that you plan on using, set a standard spacing to use on all. I used 4" centers between tracks.
Keep a clean/dry 2" paintbrush and dust pan handy to sweep the tracks clear of powder spills.
