tell me about sigs

Post by paper9 »

Hello, I have a polymer handgun, but am interested in Sig.
Are the Sigs (229, 226 etc) all metallic, the lower and upper?
Thanks,

Yes the 229 and 226 are metal frame and slides, they are sweet. I love my P226 and P220.

If you have specific questions ask away.

I have an older west german p228 (bought new in 1994) and a more recent M11, and like both a lot. Excellent handguns.
Stupid, stupid NFA items.

I see most threads are 13.5x? left hand, any issues with that arrangement? Come loose quicker than right hand maybe?

Supposedly the left hand threads will keep it threaded on longer than a right hand thread, though I have seen no difference though.

I see no bad things with the LH mounts.

I heard the same thing.

I started with LH threads and switched to RH threads without seeing any change when properly tightened.

If anything I have fewer issues with RH threads because the adapters seem to be always RH threaded into the tubes and someone not aware of the LH threaded muzzle will unintentionally loosen the suppressor trying to make sure it's tight.
