combat commander as a host

Post by deadeye99 »

I have a colt combat commander I was hoping to use as a host for my recently purchased octane 45. Has anyone used this gun or is the barrel too short? Thank you, Bob

Should work fine. I have a sig commander length 1911 and it worked fine.
You can get barrels from storm lake and others.

Oh, sig also has two or three commander length factory threaded 1911s. So, yeah, the 4.25" 1911s work

Thank you Chris. I'm starting to question if I want to spend the 240ish for the storm lake or just buy the FNX45 tactical that caught my eye at the shop.

You sure are going from apples to oranges. The trigger on the FNX won't be anything like the Commander, just something to think about. I know you probably thought about this but have you been able to shoot an FNX?

No I haven't shot the fnx. I do have a usp and they seem similar. I'm liking the magazine capacity and general feel of the fnx and it gives me the excuse to buy another gun. I bought the fde octane and it sure looks great on the fde fnx tactical.
