Octane 9 or Tirant 45? Already have 45 Osprey.

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

Octane 9 or Tirant 45? Already have 45 Osprey.

Post by QuIet Noob »

I have a chance to get a great deal on either. Unfortunately I can only afford one right now. Like the title says I already have a 45 Osprey. I like the ability to shoot multiple calipers through the Tirant. Is there enough difference in performance to push me towards the Octane 9 for 9mm shooting? The Octane is cheaper but I can afford the Tirant.

Help me make up my mind!

Did you mean multiple calibers through the "Octane"?

Octane is easier to clean , better for lead and 22lr, it is stronger, has great mount and piston selections, and trusted service. ( no brainer)

Octane 9 would be my choice.

Neither. Wait and try to get a deal on a Octane 45.

Octane 9 if you can't spend a little extra and get the Octane 45. LOVE my Octane 9.....have the 45 on the way

As said earlier, you can take that Octane 9 down and clean it easily, good customer service if needed and damn it...that Octane just looks sexy.
I've gotta stop this habit.

Well, there is always the Mystic from Liberty. It's pretty versatile too and takes all these calibers: 22 Hornet, 22 K Hornet, 218 Bee, 223 REM – 16″ BBL, 30 PPC – Subsonic, 30 Carbine, 32-20, 357 MAG, 221 Fireball, 32 S&W Long, 32 H&R Magnum, 380, 9X18, 9X19 (Base Caliber), 38 Super, 38 Special, 38 S&W, 357 Max – Subsonic, 338 Spectre, 300 BLK, 300 Whisper, 300/221, 308 Win- Subsonic, all rimfire cartridges, 5.45x39MM Russian, 7.62 X 39 MM, 6.8spc AND We now rate it for the 300 BLK in both supersonic and subsonic on an 8″ barrel on full auto.

Just sayin, there is another option at a low MSRP of $750.
