Which is the better thread choice?

Hello, I have been looking around for a threaded barrel for my glock 19 and I am liking the stormlake, but which thread type would be the better choice... The 1/2x28 or the 13.5x1mm. I am probably going to get a Octane 9 later on.

If you have the patience, wait until you find a factory threaded barrel for the G19. They're threaded metric 13.5x1mm

Metric threads are indexed at the muzzle, instead of the barrel shoulder on standard threads. This ensures better bore concentricity with the can.

Metrics also use o-rings, which really do help prevent the can from loosening and backing off while shooting.

And a factory threaded Glock barrel is truly a drop-in. No break-in needed. Every single spec is exactly the same as stock OEM barrels, even the 9.84" barrel twist rate.

True, 1/2x28 is more common, but M13.5x1 isn't exactly rare either. It's just a simple piston swap.

I've seen used ones sell for $200+ since everyone knows they're hard to find (especially for the 19).

Definitely costs more than aftermarket barrels, but well worth it imo.

I own all right hand threads ( rifle pistol) I like aftermarket barrels for the Glocks for reloading, lead, and the tighter chambers. Never had to break in any of them.

Don't carry my Glocks suppressed but that aftermarket barrels have proven themselves for home defence.

The g19 is for home defense.
I carry a g29 10mm for EDC

13.5x1LH for me. My G19, USP9SD, and P226 are all threaded metric. I don't have to change out pistons when switching from one host to another and I prefer the o-ring engagement.
