SRI is Melonite treating Sparrow tubes!

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

All NFA laws apply.

You did miss Round1.

We haven't decided yet if we are going to do more runs either exclusively Sparrow or doing it for other cans as well.
Spectre 2 and the Mystic !!!!
Possibly on both, they are both in the discussion phase now.

As long as its only steel and can be taken apart then it can be done.

I just picked my Sparrow today, so I'd be in for a round 2.

No ETA on another run.

We had a ton of emails from non-Sparrow owners that wanted in on the run so it brings to question.

What models of silencers would you guys like us to run next time?

Any cans with stainless CTA baffles. (Octanes, Spectres) Would that be a logistics nightmare?

Absolute logistics nightmare, for cans like that they would most likely be required to be brand new unfired so we can gut them all and run all the baffles in one batch, no seperation/segregation etc.

Mine has seen 5K rounds through a 4.5" barreled SMG. Still going strong. B- did a great job!

Hey, that sounds really cool.... Too bad I missed it by 6 months. :(

If another run comes up for sparrows, or if a first run comes up for Spectre 2's count me in!

We ran a few other model cans when we did the Sparrow run to test them out. Spectre's were in that grouping.

We are still uncertain if we will offer it again as we spent more time cleaning them than anything else.

It will be posted here if we decide to do it again.

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. I regularly wet tumble mine in stainless steel media, so it stays relatively clean (other than two straight lines on the inside of the tube that correspond to the seams on the inner sleeves [/OCD tick].

If cleaning was a problem last time, if you do another run make folks send in an extra $100 Postal money order with a SASE. If the can's clean when you get it, you send them the money order back. ;)

Was the extra cleaning done individually by hand, or was there a "mega-dip" bath wash available?

We have considered a cleaning fee paid up front and if it comes in clean its refunded and if not then well then its not refunded.

In order for them to be run they have to be OCD spotless, if not they require cleaning.

We will have to see.

Was a combination of cleaning methods but for the stubborn stuff it was cleaned by hand.

I have a never fired sparrow in jail right now. Let me know if I should keep it clean. I have 2 other 22 cans so that should be easy.

Just picked up my sparrow. Should I keep it mint condition? Are you doing another run?

Hello,

I am interested in another possible run of Sparrows as well. I admit I skipped a page or two in this thread but are there not any photos of the finished product?

Thanks
Jason

Thank you. Man now I really want in. I live outside of Raleigh and it was would be awesome if I could do an in person drop off and pick up to eliminate shipping from the process.
