This is why you make the first one .22LR
Re: were you afraid to shoot your first form1 can ?
Nope. Both are 22 lr, build em, look down the bore (following all gun safety protocols of course), shoot it.
Re: were you afraid to shoot your first form1 can ?
I started building guns first before suppressors. My first one was a 50bmg rifle. Everyone chickened out on shooting the first shot. I planned to use string from behind a tree to fire several rounds and then magnaflux it to inspect for cracks. A few friends were arguing on who was going to be the first to shoot it untill we got to the woods. Apparently twine won that arguement. LOL
Re: were you afraid to shoot your first form1 can ?
I wasn't afraid to pull the trigger on my first several cans as they had a generous bore and were for lower powered cartridges like the 22lr and the whisper series.
I plan on not even trying to hide my flinch when I pull the trigger on the 50 bmg can next month for the first time.

Same here except no string used, one round then inspect for any damage, then 5 rounds inspect, then dump the magazine and remember its gonna be hot!ghostdog662 wrote:I had my body on the other side of a tree pulling the trigger from a string

First Form 1 was for a 300 whisper so not too worried. I did feel some apprehension when I put the can on a .223 but it worked well. Have not tried it on my .308 but I need to.
My next project is a 50 BMG can, a little nervous about this one.
