300 blackout rifle by Ruger

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

Saw that. :)

No AAC/Rem smoking crack price tag and detachable mag . If no bugs I will buy one for sure. The 18" 308 predator is nice too.

Good looking rifle. I'd love to see it SBR with a shorter barrel.

This may be the tipping point that gets me into 300BO.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

They introduced LH American series rifles at the same time. If only they had introduced a LH 300 blackout.

I may still get one, but I just ordered the 300 version of the H&R from Bud's the day before.

Not bad, not bad at all. But it's still a full-size action, and that will never be as elegant as an action sized to the round. I ended up with an old Sako Vixen in good condition, today I would have looked very hard at the new S&L Legacy:

IMO, the best 300bo Bolt option available currently...
Would be a great companion for the Liberty Leonidas.

Not full size...short action, 308/243 sized. You're not going to see many companies down size an action shorter than that. I don't really see a problem with a short action 223/300.

A matter of taste I guess, personally I find my Vixen superbly elegant. Not only does it make for a slightly more compact action, it also looks better. But as you say, not many make such rifles. There's the CZ 527 and the vintage Sako Vixen, Zastava makes a mini-mauser and now S&L Legacy.

I can think of better ways to spend $2300.

Like buying the Ruger, a brand new silencer, paying the tax and buying a big stash of ammo.

I have the Zastava Mini Mauser and can recommend it,but that won't stop me from buying the Ruger. If this is as great as the 77/44 model they will have another winner.I do like the Remington but they need alot of work to make them as good as most Rugers.
The only reason after 243 years the government now wants to disarm you is they intend to do something you would shoot them for!

If you don't mind an over-sized action the Ruger seems like a winner for sure. I've always considered Ruger guns as rugged, practical and sensible guns. Sometimes that's more important than looks. But when I look at my old Vixen I must confess it's a gorgeous little rifle...

"Oversized" ...yet still under 6lbs.
A 300bo bolt repeater with optic and suppresser can finally be UNDER 8 lbs.
Fantastic win, IMO.

I have a 300BO Remington 700 and love the round. Bought a Timney trigger due to the long wait on the recall dealing with sending my gun back to Remington for their fix (6 months). The only practical way to go is reloading 300 BO as factory ammo is pricy.

I'm curious about the trigger on the Ruger pictured. Is that a set trigger of sorts?

If it shoots they will have a winner on their hands. That could be a badass lightweight hunting rig for deer and hogs with a can and a short dot type optic.

If, and or when I get mine, a 1-4 Optic is going on it. I have an order in with our local FFL, he can't complete the order until it is in stock with his supplier, so who knows when it'll go through. I will bug him every couple of weeks so he doesn't forget out me.

Now for a decent, but affordable 1-4 optic to go on it.
