Silencerco Barrels?
Has anyone received one yet and had a chance to test it? Just wanting to know if they lock up tight and function ok. I sold all my Storm Lakes as I wasn't a fan of the Gap and the threads weren't real tight. KKMs I've found are much better in both regards just not available in black finish. Hoping the Silencerco offering is the best of both worlds.

Waiting to find out myself. Even though Storm Lake makes the AAC barrel, there seems to be some slight differences.KSmoker wrote:Has anyone received one yet and had a chance to test it? Re: Silencerco Barrels?
AAC barrels are not just repackaged Storm Lake barrels. Storm Lake is machining them to AAC specs and is acting as a machining center to make parts from provided drawings.
It is like when IBM made rifles. Forget whatever you know about IBM, as it has nothing to do with the rifle as they are made to a provided drawing.

Re: Silencerco Barrels?
Analogous to how you say the MPW BCG meets/exceeds milspec standards, in what ways do these AAC spec barrels meet/exceed Glock factory threaded barrels?silencertalk wrote:AAC barrels are not just repackaged Storm Lake barrels. Re: Silencerco Barrels?
The design goal was to be like an OEM barrel. Not to be better.
Re: Silencerco Barrels?
I'd get one for my G19 if they had it in 1/2x28. I'd get a lot of things if there was anything in stock on the web site.

AAC sends products to dealers, for example:dtom29 wrote:I'd get one for my G19 if they had it in 1/2x28. I'd get a lot of things if there was anything in stock on the web site.

I can't spend my Damn the Man credit anywhere but the AAC web site.
Re: Silencerco Barrels?
Wow, I thought there would be some out in the wild by now. Does anyone know who's making the Silco barrels at least?
Re: Silencerco Barrels?
I got a SiCo barrel for my G19. Have it installed & everything but my range plans keep getting thwarted. I'm hoping to finally shoot this coming week & will report back. As far as fit & finish, it looks/feels excellent.
Re: Silencerco Barrels?
+1, I also have one of those credits to spend.dtom29 wrote:I can't spend my Damn the Man credit anywhere but the AAC web site.
Re: Silencerco Barrels?
Well, finally got out to shoot (fucking COLD!). SiCo barrel + bone stock G19 + Octane 9HD performed flawlessly. Only shot subs, Remington & Winchester. No failures, slide locked back on empty, and silencer never started walking on the threads. One of those ho-hum experiences like "oh yea, this was what I expected". She's good to go.BearTHIS wrote:I got a SiCo barrel for my G19. Have it installed & everything but my range plans keep getting thwarted. Congrats hope you had fun. I'm interested in buying one for my for another g17 I have. How does the bore look pretty smooth and clean?BearTHIS wrote:Well, finally got out to shoot (fucking COLD!). As smooth & clean as I'm used to seeing. Although I own a few guns w/ "match" barrels I'm simply not that type of shooter so I'm not sure I'm the best person to ask. I'll say it's 100% free of any machine marks, burs, and the rifling looks very cleanly cut. That's about the best way I can describe it. I'm 100% satisfied. Well 99%…. The lack of a thread protector being included is my only grief w/ it. I'll just have to buy one I guess.
Re: Silencerco Barrels?
two requests. 10/22 traditional and take down barrels with sparrow thread specs to engage the O ring.

Re: Silencerco Barrels?
Had mine done this way. Perfect machining and concentricity. Even kept the front sight as a barrel shoulder. Sparrow thread specs are never gonna happen at the factory level.moagm316 wrote:two requests. 10/22 traditional and take down barrels with sparrow thread specs to engage the O ring.

I know tactical Solutions makes a threaded barrel for the 10/22 takedown, but don't know how it's threaded. I bet they would do a custom job if asked.moagm316 wrote:two requests. 10/22 traditional and take down barrels with sparrow thread specs to engage the O ring.

Has them instock at a really good price.
I would be afraid of buying anything from botach. if you look at the BBB complaints on them, just cause they say they have it in stock.... doesn't mean that they actually have it in stock. Just my .02 cents though.
Re: Silencerco Barrels?
I have heard that before but thus far been lucky ordering from them.donutslayer853 wrote:Ash wrote:http://www.botach.com/silencerco-threaded-barrels/

I did get my SiCo barrel from them without issue.
Just wish SiCo would've included a thread adapter with it, had to order that separately from SiCo.

They'll do anything you want if the price is right.Killerapplesauce wrote:I know tactical Solutions makes a threaded barrel for the 10/22 takedown, but don't know how it's threaded. PS, the price is NOT cheap.
