Re: Henry is BACK!!!! Rugged Suppressors
are you going to go work with him again?
the only way this would be better is if the company was named rws (rugged weapon suppressors)

Re: Henry is BACK!!!! Rugged Suppressors
Hello Henry,
I just picked up my Spectre II a couple of days before Christmas and yes, it is really rugged! Like ball peen hammer durable.
Mostly twice as heavy as the Sparrow which is retiring to a Pac-Lite and Nylon 66 with speedi-loaders.
But the Spectre is going on the mad shooter 180 for the heavy lifting and giggle silly quiet. You built like I would if it had to last.
So looking for the 1st can of 2015 and it has to be ball peen hammer rugged -another Henry inspired design mostly would do AGAIN.
So, Henry, CU again this year!

Re: Henry is BACK!!!! Rugged Suppressors
Interesting guess ill have to rethink if i want the Saker or this lol.
Re: Henry is BACK!!!! Rugged Suppressors
It's interesting to me that Pappas has DeadAir, Henry has Rugged, and both are using designs I would consider far and above small shops like Liberty or Huntington or whoever, like they were design aspects kicked around at SiCo. Not thats good or bad, just interesting.
More curious to me is why these two decided that after getting let go from the same company, using similar designs and materials, that they both still decided to go it alone and separate. That would be a serious concern to me if I were either of them, it's sort of a guarantee that if either of them make a real business out of it, the other pretty much must fail because Silencerco isn't going anywhere. It's really not that large of a market.

Just curious if anyone knows, are they doing their own machining or subbing out the machine work like Dead Air?

Re: Henry is BACK!!!! Rugged Suppressors
The only reason I ask is from a business standpoint. Right now I am dumping hundreds of thousands of dollars into my machine shop and we do all of our own machining. These guys have made a name for themselves in the industry while working at a reputable shop and are now starting their own businesses so its just a curiosity to me if they dropping the money to machine in house or subbing the work to another manufacturer. Subbing work is actually a very common practice in the firearms world, I have worked at shops making Remington 700 actions for Remington, M&P slides for Smith & Wesson, and receivers for Thompson Center. It would surprise most people just how much of the products they buy are machined at places other than the manufacturers facility. I wish I had these guys reputation in the suppressor industry with the machining capabilities I already have but a reputation as theirs is something that is earned. Hopefully with good products and business practices one day I will be a name people in the suppressor community knows and respects.jdasilva wrote:say what?! Re: Henry is BACK!!!! Rugged Suppressors
I'm really excited to be back in the industry and I am glad you guys like the Surge 762!
We make everything in house right now. I've used outside vendors to make parts for years so I am comfortable with spec-ing certain parts if demand outstrips our in house capabilities.
