That's what I was going to ask - looks cast to me... and I would think if cast quite a cost savings/why they re-enforce on 4 sides of the cone to the base .... anyone?

Pictures from these parts as on display during IWA 2012
556 silencer had a QD mount - 3 lug style.
Larger cans where direct thread and over barrel design.
Endcaps looked like combat helo rocket pods.

I love how the blast chamber leads to 2 series of choked 1way valves. THen, enters an expanding coaxial expansion chamber creating turbulance and restricting backflow.
I DO ? the holes allowing the coaxial to exhaust into into the normalization chamber. I have many ?s about THAT aspect rather than slowly bleeding backward into the blast chamber.
I guess that this is to allow rapid fire from an Infantry rifle. Yet, a bolt action would be better served by preventing the coaxial space from exhausting into the far endcap.
