Folding Supressor ???

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

All NFA laws apply.

The folding mount is interesting, especially if they are cheap enough.
Just pull the pin and swap the hinge from one host to another.

"Finally, SEG also had on display a patented stamped steel suppressor baffle design. This design reduces cost though an inexpensive stamped and folded baffle assembly. SEG advertises suppressors as inexpensive as $200, the cost of a tax stamp."

I'd love to see the Patent or design of how the sheet metal folds to create the baffles.
I wonder if it's just an accordian slant design.

What type of design layout would could the squiggly line weld?

Here is a picture of their baffles, the far right is the "folded" baffle they mention.

Its not a squiggly weld.....its a finish they put on the can, basically its a titanium tube thats heated up in certain areas to change the color of the metals. I would love to see proof that it doesn't damage the titanium strength and structure.....our metallurgist has said that he would never fire a round through something that had the metal tempered like that.

Its also provides "natural camouflage for military concealment"....

Performance is on par from the testing results I have seen.

Remember, you get what you pay for.....$200 can? $200 performance.

THat's about what I figured. A Vaime type arrangement.

Thanks for pics and added info Bender. 8)
I'd kind of like a CeraKote Brown/Gray patern like their weld marks. Looks pretty to me. And kinda like Desert Camo, RealTree, MossyOak, etc. A non-linear breakup pattern.

But Ill keep that CeraKote pattern on an AAC!

They told me they are getting a 40db reduction with their ti30 cal can. I asked3 times and was told same thing. Pretty bold claim. Seemed like nice guys.

I sure do hope that they have an Infomercial showing SPL testing w meter in a corner box on screen.
Otherwise their claims aren't believable.
They need hard data showing powder, temp, date, location, etc.
Otherwise, "up to 40dB" would protect them from a Class Action Suit.
Or is there a Federal Waiver for NFA products making unreasonable claims that buyers rely upon to make purchasing decisions?

So I tried to order the hinge just to play with it. We shall see if he gets back to me, he didn't want to take any money then.

The mono cores are just that. Very inexpensive.

I liked the folded metal cores. Looks just like the Vamie but all done from a single metal flat. It was almost artistic.
