Jesse James Aero-Sonic Internals

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

All NFA laws apply.

Looks like it was designed by someone with a background in car and motorcycle parts.

It would be fun to have one.

Spacely sprockets, still I would be interested in hearing a video, just for entertainment.

These are rated 78db on an AR using super sonic 5.56mm ammo on his website, my 22lr suppressor runs 112db using 22lr sub sonic ammo. I must be doing something wrong.

Was not impressed by anything in his booth. Was super nice guy and very humble.

Yeah it sounds like its somewhere in the 130-140db range. I loved watching Jesse do sheet metal work on the choppers and he did build some cool stuff, he is an artist. I would be happy doing some sound testing with him to get some good numbers for his cans, I'm sure its just the result of using poor sound test equipment.

This IS for a MoPed muffler right?!?
I'm totally sarcastic.
Obviously this is for people w money, but no sense.
His name recognition is what will make him $$$ w young shooters in States that don't have many suppressor owners shooting publicly.
Anyone who researchs design and function b/f buying, will DEFINATELY bypass these.

I bet the dB reduction could be improved considerably (and it needs to be; that seems loud in the video) by a) getting rid of the central tube and b) reducing the holes around the washers to about 1/3 that size while drilling them a bit further from the bore. It'd still be an inefficient suppressor but maybe a few decibels quieter. Man that looks heavy.

The tube & 'wheels' is an old design. Shall hunt for the actual
patent number this weekend.

As for his metal forging it is good. JJ, like the smiths of the Halstatt Culture, has wondrous and talented metal working
skills and uses classical machines, tools, and techniques. I was particularly impressed when he went
to Israel to learn from a master metal forger.

Strangely his hand forged esthetically compelling 'Brancusi'* or Alexander Caulder** muffler (is it signed?) is worth the price
if viewed as a sculpture. Also the Celtic metal smiths might have produced the first suppressor
that was disguised as a collar***. :)

On the other hand, how many of Mike Pappas's excellent DEAD AIR SILENCERS new cans
could you buy for $4,500.00?

If JJ Tootsie-Rolled wound/wrapped the open-slit section with bronze #16 mesh
he would garner a noticeable sound reduction.
