Ever wish all stupid hippies would die?

Post by poikilotrm »

Have I got a movie for you! It is a fairly accurate way of how the apocalypse will effect liberals. Parts border on soft core porn. Every character is as represensible as a cop. The end requires an understanding of subtext. On netflix: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2294619/
The moments I was censored was the moment that I won. That's twice, now. Thanks jwbaker, et al, for my victories.

Hippies and Liberals are not the same thing anymore.

I accidentally typed Fist instead of First.
Still had the Sex and Drugs, but no Apocalype.
NetFlix rated it 4.9/10. The Alt version is more like 2.3/10. :?
(Just kidding.)
I'm guessing that you meant we are "repreHensible." Since I doubt I'll watch the movie, please explain about the Characters and give me a Spoiler about the Subtext and Ending please.

South Park's Eric Cartman did a pretty good job in Hippie Drum Circle.
Not sure if that was the same episode about the SMUG created by Prius Owners.
Maybe if the 2 were combined, the Smug would rid us of Hippies?

Actually Hippie chicks are pretty cool. If only penaciline cured all ills again. :?

If not for liberals, we would not have any good movies or music.

Exactly. I decided long ago that if I want to drink good beer and listen to something other than Ted Nugent I would have to expand my horizons. I think its part of what makes this place great.

Many things the liberals get right. A lot they don't. That's why every adult should be a registered independent. Too many people vote straight ticket in this country, it's like the idiot's version of democracy.

I am a registered Independent.

I think like a libertarian.

I don't want to be a Republican because half of the party is authoritarian like Bill O'Reilly.

I vote pro-gun, which around here, means straight-ticket Republican. My wife used to be a Democrat. She voted straight-ticket Republican. I think when you get over 30, have kids, and a job - you have to be much more looney to vote Democrat.

That being said, if a democrat was very pro-gun, and the Republican was anti-gun, I would vote for the Democrat. I just have never seen that. I know it exists in the South.

And some turn Democrat when the reach their golden years.

I tend to think many people who feel insecure about the future vote for someone who promises to take care of them.

There's an old saying...

If you are young and a republican you have no heart. If you are old and a democrat you have no brain.

Mostly I'm a libertarian. Firearms are certainly a key issue for me but it has become much harder to vote for any republican since the party basically became the "anti-science party." The things they say about healthcare, climate change, vaccines, bench research, space exploration, and pretty much anything else that requires a PhD are completely embarrassing.

What about space exploration? Penn and Teller have lots of friends from NASA and even they said NASA was Bullshit. The dollar-to-benefit ratio is really poor.

I think that's really hard to quantify. A lot of technological developments that are now useful in everyday life were supposedly spurred or aided by the space race. Plus, in a million years, our descendants will probably want a way off this rock before the sun swallows it. :)

I'm really glad to see some people here have an open mind and can see that both parties have good and terrible sides. I consider myself an independent too, favoring the left, though I hate any concept of gun control.

I'm part of some other weapons collecting forums were everyone seems to tow the GOP line to the T, which can get a bit tedious sometimes.
A gun is meant to protect your life, not your wallet. Things can be replaced, people cant.

Party loyalty might be the worst thing to ever happen to American politics.

True. We got Tang, free-dried-ice cream, $1600 memory-foam mattresses, and pens that can write in zero gravity. Why not just let private industry come up with powdered drinks, better mattresses, and better pens instead of tax payers funding them?

Tang was around before the space program and before anyone says it we got velcro off the space ship that crashed near Roswell.
