Suppresser For .30cal and .223cal.
I know this has been beat to death but I'll give it a try. I'm looking for a Suppresser that can handle
both .30cal and .223cal ammo. I do not want to break the bank buying one that fit my specs. Also, one that can handle supersonic ammo. I can live without shooting supersonic if need be.

Come on I know someone has a Can they are using for both. Any help would be appreciated.
Re: Suppresser For .30cal and .223cal.
Specwar 7.62, or AAC 762 SD. Both are what I would consider high quality, "budget" .30cal suppressors. They'll cover all your listed needs.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Re: Suppresser For .30cal and .223cal.
I have no hands on experience with one, that said, I think a SpecWar 7.62 would fit your needs. They have a reputation of being a quality, heavy-duty suppressor backed by great customer service by SilencerCo. Specs can be found here: http://www.silencerco.com/products/specwar/ Real world prices are in the $700 neighborhood. Downside is that it is kind of a heavy unit compared to other .30 cal suppressors.
The Saker & Omega would meet your needs too, and are lighter, but cost more. What is your application? A bolt gun, semi-auto, SBR? These are some factors that need to be considered too.

Kinda in the same boat as you. Been looking at the Specwar but then the Dead Air Sandman L come out hoping someone in forum will have one soon for a good review.
Re: Suppresser For .30cal and .223cal.
I went through this recently and settled on a TBAC Ultra 7. In direct thread version, it is 11.5 ounces, and is rated for 6.8 down to 10" barrel, which was my main criteria. If you don't plan on using them on short barrels, the Harvester (11.3 ounces) and Omega (14 ounces) would be right up your alley.

Re: Suppresser For .30cal and .223cal.
I have a Saker 762 because it's rated down to a 7.5" barrel for 5.56, and you can get a 5.56 end cap. Also have a Form 1, but I have tried it on a 5.56 yet...
Re: Suppresser For .30cal and .223cal.
I have the 7.62 specwar, and run it on .223 and .30. Runs great, and suppresses .223 on my 10.5 sbr to hearing safe levels...at least for me. My .308 sounds like .22 mag. Very quiet. Subsonic absolutely awesome. Hope this helps

Rugged ty i have been trying to remember that name all day. I like that idea of being able to change from a long to a shorter suppressor.

XCaliber Firearms Mountaineer-D 30 Caliber Silencer. This multi-caliber rated silencer offers world class sound reduction at an affordable price. Sound pressure levels on 7.62MM hosts range from 134dB to 136dB and 131dB to 134dB on 5.56MM hosts. Each silencer comes with an adapter to allow for shooting 5.56MM hosts. The core system is upgradable and quick attach mounts will be available in the future on this silencer. This Mountaineer-D also is able to be disassembled by the end user (however this is not usually necessary on centerfire rifle silencers). Most companies seal or weld centerfire rifle units so they cannot be upgraded. By not sealing our units we can offer upgrades in the future at minimal cost and time.

Specwar 762 works well on both for me.

Most modern 30 cal suppressors will be just fine. It's just a matter of preference on length, weight, price, mounting options.
The real question you should really ask is... which one should you stay away from? Answer: huntertown arms

Why do you say this? I was looking at a 22 can from them.
I use a saker 762 with a QD mount and swap between 300blk and 556. I'm very happy with it.

I do have a biased opinion but I do recommend you take a look at the Liberty Suppressors Freedom before making any final decisions:

Re: Suppresser For .30cal and .223cal.
I have a 300 Blackout with a 10.5 Barrel and a .223 with a 16" Barrel. Also was looking at changing the .223 Barrel to 10.5 or in that range. Thanks for all the info. I did check out the Liberty Chaotic and I like the fact you can shoot Sub and Super Rounds. That seems like it would fit for both 300 Blackout and .223.

Use a 7.62 Saker for both 5.56 and 7.62. Is very impressive. Have compared it to the 5.56 Saker and it is very good indeed.
Specwar now reserved for the 7.62 bolt rifles.
(Yes I have all three.)

I have been very impressed with the saker762 on my 8" 300blk and 16" 5.56. I have recently threaded my 30-06 and put he saker on it and it is awesome. The noise reduction is superb on all 3 rifles.

I think capitol armory has SPecwar 762s on a deal right now
Re: Suppresser For .30cal and .223cal.
I'm a huge fan of 7.62 cans on 5.56 platforms. 5.56 suppressors have seriously bad back-pressure issues in automatics and a good 7.62 suppressor can help that out if designed correctly.
When we set out to develop the Sandman -S and -L, we first looked at what would make a lower back-pressure baffle, and then we optimized it for sound reduction. I think it came out as the "most balanced" product out there.
The -S is as light, and the same size as a normal 5.56 can, and will be significantly quieter to the shooter. It's almost a mini 7.62 can. The -L adds a few ounces but is still lighter and more compact than the other 7.62 long cans on the market. It will drop the muzzle report down to compete with the quietest 5.56 can on the market, but it will also significantly drop the at-the-ear sound level for the shooter. A typical 5.56 can will be around 145 dB to 150 dB at the shooters ear. We typically meter in the 139-141 dB range. Additionally, it has a lower tone that many are used to. We were able to eliminate a lot of that painful 1K-5K Hz range of the spectrum, so most people just note the "lower tone".
The fast attach mechanism is the most simple and robust on the market and there are no barrel or shooting schedule limits thrown on you with the Sandman product. So go ahead and throw whatever you want at it.

I have a Liberty Freedom in ATF Purgatory for that duel purpose.
