No such thing as SBR lowers any more (meaning stripped lowers or built lowers with no upper that are already registered as an SBR).
ATF has stated that in order for the SBR to be registered SBR, it must be built and assembled with the proper length barrel.

SBR's are complete rifles and yes, they have offered them recently, but they go quick.
Keep an eye on Operation Parts and boltcarrier.com.

Your only other option is a complete rifle or built lower, then SBR it yourself.

Thanks for the reply, makes sense. I'll just grab a complete rifle and sell the upper.

The MOD2 CQB's should be around soon. That with the KAC 3 Prong flashider and QDC can of your choice would be hard to beat. Maybe add an A5, then accessories of your choosing.

On this note....

I was thinking about registering my Mod1 on a Form 1 as an SBR and turning the 16" barrel down to a 14.5" barrel. Will there be enough room to clear a triple tap and mount an NT4 or will the rail be too long and get in the way with the barrel cut down to 14.5"???

There are some KAC lowers on Gunbroker right now for around $750, but they are not marked SBR.

Are you still looking for an 11.5" upper?

I picked up a complete MOD1 11.5 SR15.
I have 4 KAC lowers now so I'm good on those, I may be interested in an upper though.
PM me with the info.
