Ok this is the last of the videos from when Mike Pappas of Dead Air Armament came down to film with me last month. As you already know I uploaded the Sandman-L video review and have received a ton of requests for the Sandman-S video.
I hope you enjoy the review as much I enjoyed testing this badboy. I want to add that the tone of both the Sandman-S and the Sandman-L in person is very pleasing to the ear, something even my expensive Rode Video Pro Stereo Mic can't even accurately reproduce.
I am excited to see what other cans they come out with in the future and am still very anxious to get my hands on the Sandman-Ti and the elusive Mask-22 and get those videos shot.
I start out with the technical specifications of the suppressor, give you a quick rundown of the mount and then get to the fun part, shooting! Feel free to share this video with like minded individuals and click the thumbs up button if you enjoyed the video! Thanks!

You mention the tone of each, can you give a descriptive comparison?

Very deep low tone. Very hard to explain unless you hear one in person.quiettime wrote:You mention the tone of each, can you give a descriptive comparison?

Re: Review: Dead Air Armament sandman S
I've got my first can purchase narrowed down to the following....Rugged Surge, Omega, and Dead Air Sandman S.....So I found this post very informational. Thanks.

Same here, thanks for the info. I'm debating on getting two .22 cans now and the Dead Air Mask is one of them.Toetagger wrote:I've got my first can purchase narrowed down to the following....Rugged Surge, Omega, and Dead Air Sandman S.....So I found this post very informational. Thanks.

At monthly club meeting we were discussing Mike's forthcoming Mask .22.cyclone72 wrote:Same here, thanks for the info. During mental salivations on eventually ordering a Mask a question arose as to would
DeadAir ever offer a 7"+ model for those who want that little extra quiet and snobbery.
Mike's thoughtful design lends itself easily to simply packing more modular baffles into
a longer tube. Easy peezie.
Comparable to Randall's offering their #1's and #2 in 5", 6", 7" and 8" size.
Who does not have every size in each model?
Personally I would pay double the price of the 5" Mask can for an 8" model.
( You can spot an Artillery Luger collector. )
Hopefully the intelligent effort to finally remove sound attenuators, suppressors, from
the NFA list will pass and one can finally simply walk into a store and purchase the can with the
same process as that for a firearm.
The blessed demise of the interminable waiting period and needless/inefficient paperwork
for a benign and health protecting device.

Surprising question ... its intensionality eludes me. Must be missing something.
But yes ... among a few.
Thought it would have been fun many years ago to
join the Keepers Of Odd Knowledge Society but Rush could not
locate the northern New England Chapter.
Heard that last remaining member left was Bernie Sanders.

We've discussed making a longer version of the Mask, but the funny thing is that there's a real point of diminishing returns. It could still drop a couple dB at the muzzle, but the action noise can sometimes become louder. It would sound better to people near by, but the shooter wouldn't notice. The Regulator is about an inch longer and the Mask is within 1dB on average with much lower FRP. At the ear, the Mask is 1 dB quieter. It has to get stupid-long before there's a serious performance gain. I'd love to make a longer one, but the market is so small it doesn't justify the time--even when it's easy to do. If we can get an extra few minutes to spend on other projects, you know, like a .338 suppressor, then we'll use that time wisely.

Thank you for the clear explanation.
You have added another fan who is looking forward to
being able to apply $200.00 more effectively toward purchasing
your products.
FunMotto: 3 cans for the price of 2.
Unqualified success for you and your company.
