I have a new SiCo Omega. One of my shooting buddies has an Octane 9. The Octane can definitely runs a bit quieter with a drop of wire pulling gel inside it. Does anybody run a rifle can wet? Not recommended? Fine?
It's easy to access the blast chamber in the omega, since the barrel/brake end cap comes off, AND the end cap comes off.

All the instruction manuals on my rifle cans say to not run them wet.

You can run full circumference welded rifle cans wet. By wet I mean no standing water like you would have in the blast chamber in a pistol can. Just a wetting of the baffles with no standing water will work. It will kill any perceiveable suppressor flash when viewed from the front....that's about it. Oh and it will cause a nice mess inside your DI upper and wet your face with wet gas blowback lol.
IE unless you are on a SF team trying not to be seen and killed.... It's not worth the hassle. Also I can't stress enough, no standing water. The pressure will reach unsafe levels with too much water.

You will love the picture I have from my testing of our integral DI upper after a 300+ FA cycle getting dunked in a 5 gallon pail of water on a 38* day. I did about 1800 rounds that day on a pretty quick fire schedule and was cooling in water between cycles to decrease the down time between cycles. Pull it out , quick shake, and let it rip. I guarantee I had standing water in my can haha.

My intelligent brain tells me a LOT of "safety" has to do with what you're firing through the can.
The pressure of a subsonic 300BLK round vs. the pressure of a full-power 308 round through the same can is astronomically different. With 5.56 somewhere in between. Similarly, you'll see a greater sound-reduction in a 220g 300BLK at 1000f/s run wet than you will military ball 5.56 or 308.
