Dead Air Mask22 Full Review! (Video)

Post by Fireman1291 »

Ok I finally have the video done and uploaded! This was shot in RAW on a hacked camera for the highest quality color graded footage possible and the best audio possible. It literally took over a week to compile, format and edit. That being said, I'm happy with the finished product. There is one scene where it wasn't totally in focus and I even mention "lets get this in focus" LOL! But we couldn't go back and re-film it so I let it be. As far as the suppressor itself.....wow. It just moved to the top of my "grab to impress NFA newbs" list. I'm eager to hear your feedback. It helps me tweak my format to better suit your viewing experience. Thanks!

Excellent video with all the different handguns plus a rifle. It shows off the Mask22 capabilities very well.
You can fool all of the people some of the time, and some of the people all of the time...and those are pretty good odds.

I agree the wide array of hosts really does make it easier to tell how well it performs. My only suggestion would a moment or two where you give your "final Thoughts" on the can, likes/dislikes after shooting. Otherwise very helpful. It sounded like the Colt Railgun was the quietest pistol host.

One question though; You say it is the best show off can but the decibel readings were right in line with other top cans, does it have a better tone that makes it sound quieter to the ear despite the decibel reading?

Thanks for taking the time to do these reviews.

It's funny you mention that as it's something I will be adding to all future reviews. I will have a closing comment scene at the end where I relay factual info obtained during the review. IE, FRP, tone, etc. I don't want to make this opinion based. But it will help with the flow of the video and keep things less abrupt. Thanks! 8)

Thanks Fireman. Especially for your careful work with microphones, attempting to make the recorded noise as true to the actual experience as you are able given the limitations of internet audio. This video offers sound very close to what I've experienced in listening to my own .22lr suppressors, a very similar intensity and clarity of sound. Much better for comparison than so very many silencer review videos where the audio is passable and worse. I've nothing against Thompson for example, they make lovely things which I'm sure do a wonderful job, but the demo videos leave most of the sound to the imagination as the quality of the in-camera microphone is just so poor.

Thank you very much! My next review is the Liberty Regulator and I will try some new angles and add the "thoughts" at the end as well. I appreciate the feedback and compliments from everyone!
