Subsonic 115 GR 9mm

Post by paper9 »

Here are MagnetoSpeed results for;

Hornady 115 gr FMJ RN #35557

V ave 937 fps
V max 991 fps
V min 897 fps
10 rnds, G17 with Liberty Infiniti.
Powder; Accurate No 7, 5.7 gr
CCI 500 small pistol primers
OAL - 1.140 inch

Lots of particulate blowback with the suppressor, suggest a face mask, rather than safety glasses.
Cycles, sounds good.

Here are average Magnetospeed results for:
Sierra 124 gr JHP
Winchester 231, at 4.2 grains
CCI 500 small pistol primers
Sig Sauer P226, with Omega
5 rounds at 1061 =- 11 fps.

Yep, the blowback in the face is anoying. Is that the case with all silencers?

Tried different bullets and powder:
Here are average Magnetospeed results for:
Hornady 147 gr JHP
Titegroup, at 3.2 grains
CCI 500 small pistol primers
Sig Sauer P226, with Omega
5 rounds at 947 fps.

No blowback. No that's an improvement. And tons quieter.
