Q. Ryder 22a Vs. Warlock 2? For Light weight & Easy to Clean. 22lr Only

Post by Ironballs »

Anybody have both, or shot both. I'm looking for a second can. Already have a Spectre 2. I want light weight & easy to clean.

I'm sitting with lots of hosts, both pistols & rifles, & 2 kids/a wife & a dueling tree. Sounds perfect, but I only have one Rimfire can to go around!

Please Help me choose. Any input is appreciated.

Have you looked at the Deadair Mask 22? That's what I bought.

You can't beat aluminum for light weight, but not so easy to clean without some forethought. The Ryder 22-A is great, but if you buy one, do a silicon oil treatment on the baffles and tube before shooting it. that will help with cleaning...

Some white lithium grease wiped around the first couple of baffles and the blast chamber help a lot, making it very easy to clean. Only if you clean often however. Put 100+ rounds through and the grease won't be much use.

It's hard to beat stainless for cleaning and durability, personally I'd never buy a suppressor with aluminum parts.

For price/performance it's hard to beat the Spectre. Is the 3-4 oz weight difference the #1 driving factor in the purchase decision?

The AAC Element 2 would also fit in this category. I too would not go with an aluminum can. Especially for a rimfire.

I swap between the Spectre II and Element 2 on a MKIII pistol and while I notice the weight difference, it's not IMO a "decision quality" difference in handling. I'm on the prowl for a Dead Air now.

i have 5 22 supressors

by far i love my liberty regulator the best
quietest one one i got .

i lso have Spectre 2 ,mack brothers , sparrow for rifle and element 2 / the regulator is little quieter then element
but those are my favs. dead air is prolly next down the road .

if i was looking right now regulator by a mile . no first round pop . and mouse quiet . wet even quieter

sparrow is easiest to clean but that first pop is loud , and so i use it on 22 riffle

nother one is the axiom it also has a clamshell covering like sparrow for clean easy

some folks look for cleaning first , i look for being quiet . if it takes longer to clean but is quieter then i go that route
besides its a suppressor quiet first is no brainer

forgot bout your question , the surefire cans are not nearly as quiet as the others and dont even look at sigs lol loud mfers

How? Just coat it? I was thinking of baking on Frog Paste.

I got the Ryder 22a for $219 shipped! The price swayed me.

That's only about $75 less than the Spectre. But Spectre is a couple ounces heavier.

You can buy silicon oil at Amazon or I used DOT 5 brake fluid which is silicon. Place baffles and oil into an oven proof container, heat to 250 degrees for an hour and let cool to room temp. Remove baffles and let drain on a towel. Wipe off excess, and reassemble.

Well, it has been a few months since I bought my last one, maybe the price has gone up.

Can't help you with the ryder, but I have both a warock and specter 2.

To my ears, honestly I can't tell the difference between the two cans, be it on a rifle or a 22/45.

The warlock IMO is perfect for a light handgun such as the ruger or cricket due to the weight. Guys who use that como always comment how light the dang thing feels.

Honestly, can't really notice a FRP on either warlock or specter, but I've heard the sparrow is the worst of the three from Silencerco.

also look at tactical solutions axiom , its very under rated IMO . buddy got one and its a cool can , its got the cover over baffles like the sparrow and is just as quiet with a cheaper price, i got a dead air mask other day , and might try to pick up axiom before new trust bullshit hits .
