Looking for ideas for Small pocket pistols with Suppressor
I'm starting to collect Pocket pistols and want one thats suppressed. I'm looking at a PPk in 22 currently but its kinda big and not a real PPK. I have a P62 and I'm thinking about having it threaded but its still big. Does anyone see this the same way I do? It would be cool to make a little binder that I could keep the pistol, the can and an extra mag in a small package. Kinda like a Gentleman's Kit. I saw one in a movie that was in a Bible (Browning Baby) Pics would be appreciated (either yours or someone else's if you have to)

A 22lr PPK with a can would be sweet. The fixed mounted barrel might be a pain, but if you had good gunsmithing skills it might be doable. And with a 22, the can would be less out of proportion to the gun than a bigger 9mm can. Anyone know if anybody makes a threaded barrel for a 22 PPK?
I'm gonna watch this thread, it sounds intriguing.

Have you looked at a Beretta 21A Bobcat? I know Tornado Tech threads them, and they look great witha 6" 22 can on them. And, Crimson Trace makes lasser grips for it. That'd be a sweet set up.

Griffin Armament has a QD attachment for their Checkmate 22 suppressor, kind of a mini 3 lug setup. I think it is neat, so I'm shortening a Ruger MK III to 2.2 to 4 inches (undecided). Kind of going for an OSS WW2 feel. An even smaller host could be a hoot!
I think a single shot 22lr vest gun or pen gun could be fun and very quiet .

There were some fine pocket pistols made over the years. One was called the Sherry that was a copy of the AMT. These little fixed barrel pistols are easy to fit barrels to and are very cool with a 3.00" suppressor.

I have a Walther PPK in .22. It actually comes with a threaded barrel. Simply remove the cap and you will need a 1/2 x 28 adapter. It all threads together in seconds.BlogSarge wrote:A 22lr PPK with a can would be sweet. The fixed mounted barrel might be a pain, but if you had good gunsmithing skills it might be doable. Those little fellows look so friendly, like something a child could comfortably shoot! Very nice. I'm fond of my little Unique, formerly a D4 but now more properly classed as a D2 since I shortened the barrel to 4". Without the suppressor it makes quite a pocketable pistol. With it... not quite, unless one has unusual pockets. The grip is a bit too long to be truly compact as well, but my hands are fairly large so it works well enough. In generally I appreciate compact weapons, especially for the engineering it takes to get everything necessary into such a small package while remaining durable.

Re: Looking for ideas for Small pocket pistols with Suppressor
I have one of the S&W PPK/s 22lr and an Element 2.
Shot about 200 rds and no big problems. I shot the first couple mags with a dry slide and had a couple FTF's, The slide did not fully emgage. But with some oil the FTF's disapeared.
The one complaint I have is the DA trigger. it comes at something like 300lbs or near that,, while the single action is nice, crisp, 5-7 lbs

Ya agree with you on the DA pull, tried one at Cabelas was not impressed. I kinda like the look of the Beretta 21a bobcat with suppressor.JJinParadise wrote:I have one of the S&W PPK/s 22lr and an Element 2.

Re: Looking for ideas for Small pocket pistols with Suppressor
The Bobcat 21a with a Thompson Machine Wasp suppressor is about as compact as it gets. You can fit the entire setup in a decent sized pocket, such as an interior coat pocket.

Somewhere I saw a pic where someone put a suppressor on a NAA derringer

All the Beretta pistol suppress well - the 950, 21, 70-series, and 87. I've got a threaded 950, 70, and 87, all in .22LR. I've also got a German .22LR PPK/S. My James Bond gun.
