I think I just wasted 3 months of time

Post by edteach »

I applied for 2 suppressors and 1 form 1 SBR efile. I checked the two suppressors a specwar 223 and a Osprey 45 and both are pending. I then checked the efile form 1 and it was not in the system. When I called they told me that I needed to sign the form after payment. I was on the efile site yesterday and saw my form was a draft but there was not place I found to do anything else to it. What am I missing if anyone could help me walk through this. The system is shut down till 6 pm.

The signature part is on the last section after you submit payment. You must electronically sign as the very last step.

Lets assume you made it to through the "Pay" part. This is what should follow.

I called ATF and they looked for me using my trust name, said there is no form one so its not submited. That really ticks me off. It shows draft. I can not log in yet, but ATF said sometimes I have to start all over again and they will have to refund me the 200. I asked how long that takes. 30 days. LMAO What a joke. They make things so difficult. On the up side looks like my suppressors are pending so they should be three months in now.

A member on another forum told me to contact ATF and gave me an email of one of the people who may help. I emailed them and gave them the story of what happened and I now have an Approved Form 1 stamp and all printed out. My question is the stamp gives me the right to assemble my lower and upper, do I have to wait to assemble till the lower is engraved with the trust name? If anyone knows fill me in please on what I need to do to finish the job on the lower what and how to engrave it.

3 schools of thought.

1. Have to engrave first.
2. Have to engrave last (since you haven't manufactured anything yet)
3. Dont have to engrave until you go to sell it.

Pick one, you will not be in trouble with stamp in hand.

I did the same thing on my last submission, forgot to sign at the end. But it was getting fast tracked as a correction so I only lost a few weeks with my stupidity.

Find some place that does quality laser engraving. The ATF requirements allow for a very small font. The folks with the big letters and such had their guns done on machines that weren't as precise or by folks that weren't very skilled.
