JMPF or TYCA Maglite Stainless cups reviews
Does anyone here have real world reviews of the 316 Stainless Maglite cups by JMPF or TYCA industries in the 0.995 in. and the 1.340 in. size. I'm thinking of using them in an 8 in. long Titanium tube. The 0.995 for rimfire, and the 1.340 in. for supersonic use (.357 lever action)- .308 and down (with a smaller end cap). I understand the aluminium cups (6061 Al) tend to malform with supersonic use.
I have researched all over the internet, but can not get any really solid reviews. I have a small mini lathe (7x14) and have made baffles in the past for my Form 1's. I am 90 out days from my ATF Efile, and am getting anxious.

Re: JMPF or TYCA Maglite Stainless cups reviews
http://www.jmperformancefittings.com/ doesn't post 5/8"x24tpi endcaps. So you'll need to buy them elsewhere if you need them or 9/16".
Why don't "storage cups" come w 60* angles? The flatter cones don't perform NEAR as well. Not much better than just sandwiching pressed cone washers b/t spacers. (After using the 316SS cup as the blastshield.)
You'd do better just pressing some flat washers into cones and cutting your own spacer tube w thinner sidewalls. It'd be a better use of volume.
---
http://www.tycaindustries.com/ uses 303SS. NOT 316. So subject to increased risk of corrosion. You could buy from SDTA and probably get better results. IM(ns)HO

Thanks for the input, WhiteRussian. You are correct it is 303 SS. Both my form 1's were approved today (less than 90 days on a trust). I'm waiting on my tubes from DM. They say his work is worth the wait.

Re: JMPF or TYCA Maglite Stainless cups reviews
Have you thought of asking DM to machine some "filtration funnels?"
They could be true 60*cones w 1/16" drain holes to catch carbon deposits while allowing cleaning fluid to slow drain through.
Then if buyers wish to open the hole up to 9/32" or 3/8" w F1; well, that's perfectly permissible.

my goal is to make it as easy as possible to have a high quality parts that you can finish without the need for expensive equipment (which is why i clipped mine with handtools)

Once the Hearing Protection Act Passes you most likely will see a sharp uptake in sales.

Nice to see you in my thread,,,lol
I ordered from you (poolshark) and already have my tracking number from you. These look good! I'm going to open these to 10.5 mm (0.413 in.) for a 357 Mag Form One on my mini lathe.
I'm on the fence about turning out some K's for my .22 Form One build (0.955 in. final OD). Sad thing is, I ordered 1.5 in. OD and 1 in. OD 17-4 rod two days before I saw your thread.
Great work, and your video was a great review!

Thanks!I will place an order as soon as I can find a site that has the proper size seamless TI tubing. Perhaps you have a recommendation? Also, what material do you recommend for end caps? Last question is do you port or vent in some fashion?

I believe they are for the Maglite "D cell" tubing. Right shark?mcrump wrote:Thanks!I will place an order as soon as I can find a site that has the proper size seamless TI tubing. You can get, even Ti, on SDTA's website. Along with a myriad of end caps.
He is not selling baffles. They are for holding boiled eggs
You would need to complete each one. Drill/bore hole, clip, port, etc.

Re: JMPF or TYCA Maglite Stainless cups reviews
they seem to fit well in SDTA's Ti D tubes... I sell paperweights do whatever you want with them, price dropped on the SS to be able to buy more Ti at a lower cost btwT-Rex wrote:I believe they are for the Maglite "D cell" tubing. Poolshark,
Do you have a CAD model of your funnels? I see on your website it states that the OAL is 1.388, but with some of the cone overlapping I am unable to calculate how many would be needed for a 7.5" SDTA tube with ends? Do you have a measurement for the length of the spacer only? This would allow me to calculate how many I would need to the fit the tube I want to order. Thank you for any information you can provide.
