Moral of the story: vacuum your vehicle often
65-year old Daniel Rushing of Orlando was pulled over, ostensibly because he didn't make a complete stop before pulling out of a 7-11 (pretext stop?). The female officer got his ID and noticed that Daniel had a CCW permit, so she asked him to exit the car for her safety. As he got out the officer noticed some hard crystalline "stuff" on the carpet of Daniel's car.
She asked him what it was, and he said it was glazing residue from eating Krispy Kreme donuts. Our alert officer said No, it was likely crack cocaine or crystal meth. She did a field test and said it was amphetamines, and arrested Daniel.
Later complete Lab tests identified the hard crystals as glazing from donuts, although they were unable to identify the brand of donuts the glazing came from.
Daniel sued the police and maker of the field test kits. He got $37,000 from the city of Orlando and may get more from the manufacturer of the field test kits.

You can fool all of the people some of the time, and some of the people all of the time...and those are pretty good odds.

Wouldn't glazed doughnut residue be immediately recognizable to almost any officer?
Perhaps this officer is in the wrong occupation.

Ironically, the amphetamines might be less bad for you than the Krispy Kreme donuts.

I don't know if everyone sees them but all the ads on this web page are for KK doughnuts.
There was another lawsuit within the last few days concerning these doughnuts. A lady sued saying their ads did not correctly identify the danger to her health.
