Suppressor wait times.

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

All NFA laws apply.

Suppressor wait times.

Post by Whahaha »

I have a question about wait times.

My Dead Air Mask I purchased it 10/20/17. I received it 5/15/18. Just under 7 months :D
My second suppressor I Purchased 4/20/18. So I’m hoping it only takes 7 months again.

So here’s my question

Anyone purchase one in the beginning of April and get your tax stamp yet?

I just got that itch I can’t scratch right now.

FWIW, I purchased an Obsidian via a trust in April. The check was cashed on 4/16, and the stamp came in yesterday, 11/24. 222 days from check cashing to receipt.

Hope that helps, or better yet, hope you've already received the stamp since posting!!

I applied for a F1 suppressor the end of June, I got an error letter last week, and has been returned back to them, and no doubt, that error will delay me at least 3 weeks.

Even though there were no errors on the form, that little stunt is still going to set me back.

I purchased on April 7, check cashed April 22. No news yet, but my local SOT dealer says others “about my time” are coming back. Hoping for the good news any day myself, but I used a 2-person trust for what that’s worth. It’s my first can, and I can already see another one (or two?) in our future.
Best of luck!

there's your first mistake. The ATF exists to crush all hope and joy in every way they can. In all seriousness, the times are sporadic, unpredictable, and not even consisted between forms submitted in the same week.

I had checks cashed on a sandman s and sandman k on 03/20/2018 and still no stamps. Filed under a trust and hoping that I'll get them soon.

We just got back a stamp for a customer. Check cashed 4/10 stamp approved 12/13. We have another customer who applied before this approved can. I checked on the progress yesterday and it is still pending the background check from the FBI.

The dealer. April forms have been returning. You're still on schedule

According to an article on the web dealer and manufacturer forms are being process by a reduced staff hoping to get paid one day but consumer form 1's and 4' are gathering dust.

If someone were to wait to submit a form 1 or 4 they'd just be farther down the list when the processing starts again.

ETA: A different article from yesterday.

https://www.guns.com/news/2019/01/10/mo ... t-shutdown
“ASA can confirm that the NFA Division is not processing tax-paid transfers during the shutdown,” said the group.

However, while the applications have stalled, the payments sent in for tax stamps on NFA transfers are still being processed by Bank of America, as part of their contract with the government, as the financial institution itself is not affected by the shutdown. Once the checks are cashed, the forms are still heading to the NFA Division where they are piling up.
