Re: Is Hell a real place?
I've been to Baltimore, so yes.
The moments I was censored was the moment that I won. That's twice, now. Thanks jwbaker, et al, for my victories.
Re: Is Hell a real place?
So John 3:16 says the reward for believing is "eternal life" but if you don't believe you "perish".
If hell was a place to suffer forever then isn't that "eternal life"?
Seems like if eternal life is a reward then non-existence is the punishment so it kind of doesn't matter if hell exists or not because nobody goes there.
With the exception of Baltimore.

Baltimore has the ugliest women in the country and the highest STD rate. Go figure.

I was in Baltimore back in October. We stayed on the waterfront and had a great time. I'm sure that the rest of the city isn't quite so nice.
I don't believe that an ever loving God would create a place of torment. I also don't believe that everyone gets a free pass either. If you don't make it to heaven, then you'll live for eternity knowing what you missed and also be in the company of fallen angels who really have a hard on against God and mankind which God loved so much.

Living for eternity knowing you missed out sounds like torment. And it's still eternal life.

Yes, I have been there. It is in the Cayman Islands. I met some cute girls there and a lawyer. The Devil was not in there.

Robert, I've noticed a trend in your posts of late. Are you doing some sort of sole searching mid-life kinda thing? I hope all is well with you and yours. I lost my Father in September and that has really rattled me. I really expected another 10 or so good years with him.

Is Mordor a real place? The questions have equal merit and the answer is the same to both.

Don't want to start a s--t storm here but, I don't believe there is a heaven or hell. I also have no faith in the bible as I believe it's a made up book from who knows from centuries of men who had no better way to come up with something to control people.
That's how I feel about religion and thats where I stand.
I have never written this publicly before. Just how I feel.
I survived Gulf 1 and I don't feel anything outside of being in the right place at the right time kept me alive.
Let the flaming go but that's how I feel.
I feel there never was a a god and there is no god. Life happens. In nature and humans, there's really no difference in the two. We and they all live, and die in the end.

I suspect Robert is just doing some soul searching, and looking within this community he's provided for us, for our points of view on many questions we may have all asked ourselves.
I don't feel like he clings to any particular opinions per se..... just mining the thoughts, believes, perceived outlooks and understandings to get a feel from like minded people that he can relate to in this venues level.
Like so many folks here...he likes to test the limits to find personal boundaries.
That's my dollar two ninety eight.....
ETA: I chose yes...as a matter of fact. Hell? Yes!
