Was cleaning my tirant 45 yesterday and noticed some damage to the side port on the baffle and the baffle base was roughed up also. Is this enough to send it back for repair or should I keep on shooting? No idea what caused this although the roughed up base may have been caused by carbon or lead adhering to the side of the can when the baffles were being pushed out. Some of the other baffles had similar base damage, but it's the side port that concerns me. This can and baffles has never been dipped as I know that the aluminum baffles can't take it.

Eta can someone explain to me how to add an image from an iPad?

Looks like the last endcap baffle. Seems a jacket/bullet fragment might have chipped off that side port.

Would this be covered under warranty? How do you send the can back?

Thats normal wear and tear not a manufacturing or material defect.

Up to AAC on how they deal with it.

Call AAC, they cam instruct you on how they want it sent back.

Ok, just wanted to update this thread and let everyone know my customer experience with AAC.

Mers himself contacted me and had customer service send me an rma # and ups shipping label. I took ME a while to send it back, which was the reason for such a delay in this thread. Once I sent it in, Cade Patterson let me know they got it and kept me appraised with updates. I expected I might have to pay for a new baffle, but instead I got a brand new baffle stack and re painting job for free! They also found a small dent in the can that was making it difficult to remove the baffle stack and smoothed it out for me, also for free. I was offered the 1/2 price upgrade for a new can, but having to do another form 4 wouldn't work for me so I declined.

I have to say, AAC has done right by me and this experience made me a fan. I'd highly reccomend them as a company, and once I move to a more nfa friendly state, I will make sure I buy more products from them.
