Has anyone got firsthand experience comparing the sound/tone to .308 subs? Is it any quieter with 300BO? Mine is stupid quiet with .308 subs, but I'm trying to justify my desire for a 300BO upper, or rifle.

Do you really have to justify purchasing a new rifle? I've shot 300 BLK from a friend's rifle and it's crazy how quiet these rounds can be. A couple of times the "thwack" against the backstop seemed louder than the rifle discharging.

Good point.

I doubt you will find it any quieter in 300Blk. The blackout does use a bit less powder, but the Cyclone has more than enough volume for the powder gas produced by either subsonic cartridge, so most of the noise is firing pin action and bullet flight noise anyway. A semi-auto 300Blk will obviously be louder due to the action cycling.
