Integrally suppressed airgun that sets off Binary?

Take a look at my first hi-powered integrally suppressed pellet gun review to find out! The AirForce Condor SS from Airgun Depot. I was actually amazed at the accuracy this rifle held. It was my first time shooting one let alone reviewing one. Hope you enjoy the video!

Very educational. How/where is that 85dB measured? As a bystander, the compressed air discharge sounds snappy. The suppressed Savage actually sounded better/quieter on video.

Indeed, with all due respect (and I do value your contributions greatly, Fireman), it seems likely that the AF numbers were taken using a cheap SPL meter or smartphone application. I have not tested a Condor, much less one in .25", but I did do some tuning for a friend's Talon SS in .22". Specifically I shimmed the tophat (valve stem cap) to reduce dwell time and made a set of delrin K baffles to upgrade the suppression from the factory 'film can' type baffles. I managed to reduce the report considerably, but even my cheap eBay-purchased SPL meter showed it still at around 98dB, when shooting around 20fpe. Considering the 'Sound Loc' (AF's trademarked name for their proprietary K baffles) baffles' rather un-aggressive design and the considerable condensation cloud visible on firing with this high powered .25", I'd expect a cheap SPL meter to give a reading between 108dB and 112dB from your Talon SS. Which probably translates to around 120dB to 124dB with a real sound meter and microphone. Even a .177" air pistol shooting around 5fpe, with a somewhat shockingly quiet suppressor (very close to the proverbial 'mouse fart', in fact quieter than most human farts - someone standing 15 feet away once asked me if in fact I had fired yet) meters at about 92dB with my cheap SPL meter... Any chance you could bring this rifle to a proper meter and find out the actual numbers? No doubt the AF integrally suppressed rifles are quiet, for their power, but not so very different from suppressed .22lr, as there is an awful lot of high pressure air being released.

Any homeowners on that otherwise quiet cul-de-sac?

When you compared the noise of the Air Rifle to the suppressed .22 Rimfires what power level was the Air Rifle set to? You gave the dial a spin and said that it was set to "my backyard setting", is your backyard setting "10"?
