Surefire vs AAC Lawsuit?

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

All NFA laws apply.

I didn't know that it was a Surfire can until they filed the suit. That suit probably was good advertising for AAC.

So when can we see the new AAC line of badass flashlights? Seriously, you guys have the tooling. Make competing flashlights with Surefire and make them cheaper. There needs to be a direct competitor to Surefire to drive the prices down on lights.

How would you know ? the one on the right is completely sealed. All the "soot" would be inside and that is not cut in half to see....

Too bad the suppressor guys aren't very bright.
I don't have any particular love or lack of love for AAC. I don't know anyone at AAC, and for all I know everyone at AAC is involved in kiddy porn and the abuse of baby seals.
With that proviso...

I DO know the people at Surefire pretty well. I know for a fact that Barry Dueck is not the sharpest tool in the shed. I genuinely be surprised if he has ever had an IQ test that registered at 100 or above. That doesn't necessarily mean he is a complete imbecile, but he is no inventor/designer/innovator by any stretch whatsoever.

Ya think their cans resemble OPS cans?

Barry really weasled into Phil Seaberger's good graces to the point that Phil even said that Barry was like a son to him. Phil really opened up and showed Barry whatever tricks he knew.
Of course Barry ran back to Fountain Valley with a basket full of info and talked John into starting the Surefire suppressor gig. I think it really made a fair amount of sense for them with their strong brand.
But Barry basically stabbed OPS in the back in a very shitty betrayal.

I am kind of surprised that Phil doesn't make a bigger stink about it.

This lawyer nonsense is them trying to throw their weight around I am sure.

Just my opinion, but the original Surefire locking mechanism was for s--t. Good thing they copied the newer M4-2000 lock.

Surefire R&D stands for "Rip-off and Duplicate"

(on suppressors at least)

I have always used their lights and carry one every day.

Court records show that on Monday the judge denied SureFire's motion for a preliminary injunction, finding that SureFire had not shown a likelihood of success on their claim.

Those may be close enough for a member of the general public. Personally I would have had no trouble picking the Surefire out of that lineup. The flanking KAC cans are obvious, and the others don't have the same distance from the muzzle to the weld ring.

If I had a SF can and was told it was fully welded, they would be getting a call. Would this fall under class action?

Fellas, it is from the paranormal section of the 4chanarchive.org website. I saw that and knew I had to have it for my avatar. I have the girl in the chair one that is black and white as my desktop. :)

HA! Smack-down. It's good when the system works. My favorite part was the bit claiming that it was a false statement to claim AAC's robotic, structural, full-circumferencial welding was better than Surefire's spot welds. I would love to see them demonstrate that as being false.

Attach the two cores muzzle end to muzzle end
Then pull until one weld breaks
