Element Vs Spectre

Post by Landry308 »

Shot the two side-by side today. They sound exactly the same to my ear, which is very good. The Element is a great can. I'd break it down like this:

Sound = Both the same

$$$ = Spectre wins

Size/weight = Element wins

Looks = Spectre wins

I will keep the host guns as they are in the picture, the heavy can on the heavy gun and the light can on the light gun. Both balance and shoot very well.

How are the Fastfire's holding up, not that .22 would be rough on them? I have one that I've played with just a little, but not enough to decide if they will hold up long term or not.

Thanks for your review and not chargin me 30 bucks to get it. LOL.

If that's the case, it's good to know and makes me happier with my Spectre.

I really like the design of the Element.

The picture of BookHound's Beretta 21A + Element is fantastic.

I need to get that same set-up for myself.

sweet!! I was really on the fence for MONTHS because I had put the money down on an Element with the Major. About a month ago, I called him and had him change my order from an Element to a Spectre (price difference of about $150 with him).

I shot the Spectre when my Class III received it, as I said before in my reviews (SWR v. AAC) SWR comes out on top for both price and sound suppression INJMOO (in not just my own opinion :wink: ).

Glad I got the Spectre...and Trident 9....and a HEMS II in the future.

Huh, I figured Arevalo'd get a discount rate of tree fiddy.

Seriously, though, I was surprised how the Element and Spectre both rated on some of your 2009 results. I guess it shows that manufacturers are entering the area of diminishing returns when it comes to perfecting .22 can designs. It'd be hard to imagine any innovations pushing the dB's down much more.

LOL at both you guys.

There's only one way to find out!

Maybe we can get Degroat to make a 12" 22lr servicable can. I'm in!

I don't have and also have never shot a Spectre so I cannot compare the two.
I did however shoot my new Element today and was very pleased.
It is right on par with my Aviator and a definitly quieter than my Pilot on a P22.
I really like the small size and light weight on my P22.

So far I am 100% satisfied and would recommend the Element to any one looking for 22 cal silencer.

My local dealer got some of the Elements in and to say the least I was amazed at the weight of the suppressor. The tool works great as well and mad taking apart the suppressor and putting it back together a breeze. It was shot against an Outback II in the shop on a P22 and it is noticeably quieter than the Outback. I was also impressed with the packaging and the instruction card and as with all the products I have seen from AAC the machining and finish at top notch. Great work guys.

Element is 3dB quieter. They may sound the same to you though.

Ok. 3dB quieter on a 10-22 rifle and a P22 pistol with CCI standard ammo.

People with normal hearing can detect a 1dB difference in careful listening but not easily. 3dB is twice the volume. It takes in the 6-10 dB range for a human to perceive twice the loudness.

The Element is ~ 1/2 the weight, over 1" shorter, less FRP, several dB quieter, SCARmor surface finish, and is shipped with the disassembly/assembly tool.
