Good gun smith to cut Side by Side Shotgun

Post by keatsabn »

It's been over a year since I have posted and a guy at work has me itching again over NFA. I was trying to ween myself off the middle age white mans crack (NFA) but I am smoking again.
I have a Remington SxS that the paperwork just went in, I am looking for a good gun smith that can cut my barrels, fill in the end and move the front beed. Does anybody know of one. Also looking to find a great engraver to engrave the barrels "The Welcome Wagon"

Any decent gunsmith can chop and fill. Some are hinky about NFA stuff though.

Engraving, Orion can hook you up for sure.

Thanks J I was hopeing to cut back on the "Crack" but one of those damn retired E-9's pulled me back into the fold. I think I'll stay around now. Do you know of a GOOD smith that can do the work?

Get it engraved and then do it yourself. It's not too hard, just measure and cut carefully then file it down and touch it up.

Chuck at LRM did mine some time back. Not sure if he'll still take on any work of that type. Mine is a Remington Spartan Gun works import. External functioning hammers and dual triggers. Barrels cut to 12.75", oversize ivory bead sight, color case-hardened side plates and trigger guard. Molycoat gloss black and "Stumpy" engraved into the sides.

Oddly enough I shoot it in my gun clubs "Annie Oakley" match (skeet) and do pretty damn good with it. If I can get a bead on the bird while it's close, I'll bust it. the other guys were amazed I could hit with it!

Now to really get your "habit" going again, here's a couple of pics..... :D
