ATF turnaround Cont.

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

All NFA laws apply.

Wish I had the exact dates, but I ordered a YHM can from Steve at Adco...

From steve to my dealer - 8 days
From dealer to me - 17 days when i got it, so minus a few days for forms to get to the dealer.

Much better then my first 60+ day corp transfer back in the day

Cortland

Yeah well I got the best transfer timeline ever. This was for an Evolution-45.

Sent: 7/11/06
Check cashed: Never
Pending: How the hell should I know?
Approved: 8/10/06
Picked up: Shortly thereafter

I usually track my transfers by checking my bank account to see when the checked cleared. Imagine my surprise when I go to my dealer to buy some primers and she tells my Form 4 came back. :D

Pretty sweet deal Cortland. $400 would buy me quite a bit of ammo for my new toy.

Two individual transfer ATF form 4s. One for a MAC 10 and another for a Gemtech Viper.

Sent: 10/10/06 via USPS certified Priority Mail
Check cashed: 10/16/06
Pending: 10/31/06
Approved: 10/03/06 (for MAC 10 only)
Sent out from ATF: 10/06/06 (MAC 10 only)
Pickup: Picked up the MAC on 11/09/06. Still waiting on the Viper.

Edit: The return receipt came in on Friday. It took 17 days for it to get back to my house. Hopefully my form 4s don’t take this long to get to my dealer.

Edit: The form 4 for the MAC 10 was approved on 10/03/06 and was mailed out earlier today (10/06/06). I guess there is some holdup with the suppressor however and I was connected to my examiner Scott (I forget his last name). Unfortunately he was not there and I had to leave a message. I’ll keep you posted.

Edit: I never heard back form my examiner. However the form 4 for my MAC 10 arrived at my dealer on 11/09/06.

No.

PLEASE CALL.

It was a joke refering to a previous thread.........nothing personnel I assure you.

You calling WILL NOT slow anyone's transfer down.

It's been proved that the people answering the phones ARE NOT the examiners approving transfers.

Thus it's impossible to slow down anything.

I was simply joking.

14 days for approval is unheard of your first time but the ATF has picked up its pace and now thats what were all going off of.

Im not sure I want to tell you how long it took for my first NFA transfer.

I called my dealer right after I got off the phone with the ATF, and they got back to me yesterday. They admitted some kind of mistake was made, but its not really clear to me whats going on exactly. Hypothetically, what happens if stamped form 4's get lost? (I imagine that would be worst case cenario) They are supposed to be getting back to me again sometime soon.

The two cans are made by TROS, MD22 and Diplomat II (.45).
