Unfortunatly hog "hunting" is not legal from a helicopter in Texas. These folks are a licensed "irradiation" group. I know there was legislation proposed to allow hog hunting from helicopters but I don't know what came of it.

"Irradiation" of the hogs seems much less humane than just shooting them. It might be a little tough on the aircrew as well.

Hogs causing deer to starve isn't very humane.

For every hog shot from a chopper, I'll bet that there are 6 that will be driven out of the area for a year or so.

Show me a more humane way of hog eradication that gets equal or better results.

Chill out, dude. I was making fun of the incorrect use of the word "irradiation". I think he meant to say "eradication". "Irradiation" is what you get if you're working in one of the reactors at Fukusima these days.

Sorry, I was in "defend feral hog annihilation" mode and misread your post.

Texas just passed a bill to allow helicopter hunting of feral hogs. This will allow anyone to pay to play if you have the money.

I talked to a guy from Black Bore Productions and if I recalll he said seat time might run $1,000-1,200 for a couple of hours.
They make videos and have some cool hog killing vids.

I am thinking a SHRIKE would let you do some real hosing on them. One day ARES will call, one day.

The copper guys do not like the beltfed guns since the links get every where and can be a issue with moving components on the chopper. I guess you can rig a bag but they told me no using my Stoner 63A before.
