Here is my Ruger Mk2 with an Element on it. It has a Clark trigger and Wilson magazine release. Tmix, member here, did the threading for me and the thread protector.

This was my first pistol and it still shoots great.

Looks good, I've never seen that mag release before. Is it easy to actuate? The heel mag release seems like it would take some force to move like that.

I haven't been considering a MKII because of the mag release.

That mag release works well, just takes a moment tp flip with your finger. Mine is the slab side MKII pistol with the 6 7/8 barrel. I paid 350 for mine back in the late eighties I believe.

The MKII pistol is better than the MKIII pistols because the newer ones have safeties which the older ones don't have, IMHO of course.

I don't think I can do the threaded barrel on mine, I thought of doing it but went another direction with my can.
Nice gun combo OP.

Here is my pistol:

That type of mag release is probably the single best functional upgrade you can do for the Ruger Pistol.
This has been on my RDTS integral since the 90's , nice pistolas guys, I will have to get a stainless model sometime in the future..

I passed on that mag release :? Reminds me too much of the protruding mag release of P7M8 American version. I prefer the european type heel release of the older p7s and Ruger MK1 and 2s. Heel releases are a tad slower to reload but who really notices or cares with a 22 pistol or a super accurate 9mm like the P7. Nice pistol though, Too bad you couldnt have gotten all that lawyer junk milled off the barrel. "Warning, Please read owners manual at own risk out loud every session before firing this dangerous weapon" blah blah blah  Glad Tactical Solutions didnt do that on my barrel :o .

As far as I know the magazine release is no longer made. You might get lucky and find one still but I could not find another on the net for a friend.

Love that Host!

The Mag release is wicked cool. I ran into an old timer at my gunshop and grabbed the trigger and release from him..And I thought the 90 bucks was alot at the time.. Had no idea you couldn't get that anymore..On the back of the little blue paperwork is a diagram of how you notch the grip..Normally I never read directions..Sometime when I get the chance I'm going to do the grip over minus the notch..you just need to relief cut the grip is all..not notch it.. :(

This could help with the quest..

The trigger came with it..that was 50 or 60..The mag release was only 15-20 bucks (yeah my math is not adding up.. :? )..Fella had them sitting for years and just gave them to me for what they cost.

The trigger is what I really love that I got from him. Now that is just SWEET! Hell I'd paid 150 for those all day long..

The triggers were made by Volquartsen and no longer available from them.
I paid $12. each
They're made different now.
I need to install the other trigger before I loose it.
Been 12 years since I bought those and noooooooo you can't have my damn triggers.......................

winsor, that is a nice bolt lock. Any more pics?

Even though I'm a big fan of the thumb as a bolt lock, I was considering making something similar.

Just a simple welded bolt&nut. After a while I cut it out.
