Dusk 22lr suppressor "Most 100 years advanced suppressor" ??

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

All NFA laws apply.

Dusk 22lr suppressor "Most 100 years advanced suppressor" ??

Post by winsor »

They claimed to be the most advanced rifle suppressor in over 100 years and the DUSK Suppressor utilizes a proprietary baffle stack to achieve what other suppressor manufacturers require at least 10 baffles to equal.

Wow, pretty quiet.
Has anyone tried it yet?

Not enough volume to do much for a .223 rem.

This was a fun read!

$650 for a 22lr can? Seriously? and 10.8 ounces no less! AND YOU CAN'T EVEN TAKE IT APART TO CLEAN!!!!

"Direct thread attachment does not require special expensive adapters for separate weapons platforms" This is exciting, now I can put in on my CZ452 1/2x20 and then swap to my 1/2x28 Ruger 77/22! Thats the only expensive adapter I can think it would need.

40+dB reduction and they are quieter than cans that are 10 baffles to equal their performance? The SWR Warlock is I believe .25 inches longer, weight 3 ounces versus the Dusk at 10 ounces, and has 7 baffles(if I can count right) and does 42dB if I recall the tests right. So theirs must do about 50dB in all reality.

I guess part of the 650$ price is justified since it comes with ammo and a Pelican presentation case.

Wow, if they weren't so expensive I would buy one to see how they performed and then cut it open.

I do like the part on ther 556 description in the MATERIALS section......wait for it.... SPACE AGE!

Full Auto rated and has a Moly Resin finish?

sigh...

I can't wait to see this one metered. I sense fail.

I'd even chip in to help cover the cost.

I was really considering sending these guys a couple of rifles to thread until I read this. Hard to take them serious now.

Anyone who is interested in chipping in for one please PM me. If we can get enough people, I will get one and see if we can't get it metered then I will jailbreak it, and pics put online of course.

They blanket claim '0' point of impact change. That is impossible for them to predict. They do not know my hosts, barrels, ammo, ect. POI shift is a function of many variables, not just the can design.

This statement alone indicates they are either fools or ignorant. Some of their other claims appear equally outlandish.

s--t, there's just so much wrong with these guys. Not interested.

They should show it used with 5.56.

It is not hard to build a quiet .22 rifle can, especially if you're going to make it sealed.

Well,it's not like they have a reality show and show how they 'invented' it it with chore-boy, copper tube, and a Mapp gas torch.

Bendersquint's reply, especially " 40+dB reduction and they are quieter than cans that are 10 baffles to equal their performance?"
gets to the real crux of the matter. With respect to what starting number? All ammo has different sound profiles.

Should I unveil my design for a 75 Db reduction? Yes, I have finally solved the
problem. Quieter than a mouse's fart. Sealed, lead lined so that it cannot be
x-rayed, 280 grams, and .... Cannot reveal too much yet.

Oh, you question my 75 Db reduction. You want absolute numbers?
From 210 Db artillery rounds that used to
be fired at us. 210 - 75 = 135.

Yeh!.

Guess we stick in the muds will have to hold on to our SS Sparrow or the other fine cans
until The Magic Can gets metered.

put me down for don't give a crap

Who cares what the insides look like? It is heavy, expensive, doesn't come apart for cleaning, and doesn't have nearly enough voulme for 223.

Thank you all for addressing these issues.
First, the DUSK Suppressor is constructed entirely of Stainless Steel so it can be dipped for cleaning. There is no need to take it apart.
Second, The DUSK suppressors MSRP (Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price) is just that. MAP for dealers is a completely different price-point as is Dealer Cost. These prices are not advertised. The higher MSRP is to allow dealers some leeway when pricing products for resale.
Third, Wheaton Arms inc. understands and is addressing the weight of the DUSK suppressor.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Yea, but how do you get the s--t out of it once it is in a toxic state? Why can't I just take it apart like every other sensible 22 silencer on the market today.
Wheaton Arms wrote: Third, Wheaton Arms inc. understands and is addressing the weight of the DUSK suppressor.
You understand it is like a tank, and are working on a fix for that, so you release the silencer for sale?
