Range report for 762SD on a RRA AR-15

Post by cyclone72 »

It had a first round pop which I didnt like too much but after that it seemed to tame it a little better than the M42000 more of a duller sound than the high pitched .223 sound out of an M42000.

Interesting. I wonder if that first round pop is as prevelant with .30 cal rounds out of the same can.

I've shot a 762SD on a 6.8 SPC and 223 and I thought it sounded better than the cans made for those calibers, nothing scientific just my PERSONAL hearing.

Thanks for the info Cyclone72.

I've been tempted to get a 762-SD and use it on both my AR & AK since the AK will be loud no matter what.

Ok, had to see what happened with my AAC Cyclone,

swapped cans had someone else score and listen TAC-16 vs. Cyclone
Cyclone was rated quieter 3 out of 5 times on AR-15 so pretty close to each other as sounded alike with full power ammo.

Where is the video that you promised all of us? We are patiently waiting. Tick-tock, tick-tock.....

What mount did you use to attach the 762SD to the AR15?

I'm planning to get a 762SD for use on an M1A with the AAC mount, and it be great if I could use the same can on an AR15. Thanks.

The M4-1000 mount will work with the 762sd on a 5.56mm rifle. (the bore on the M4-1000 FH is 5.56mm DO NOT use this mount on a .30 cal rifel)

The older m4-2000 mounts are the same as the m4-1000 right?

Don't worry Karl, no intention here of using the 5.56mm flash hider on the M1A. My plan is to use the M14/M1A mount you guys are producing.

Thanks for the information. I was hoping that the FH on the AR15 would be compatible with both the M4-1000 and the 762SD so that I could use an 762SD on the mount in the meantime and use an M4-1000 when/if I can afford another can.
