Getting ready to go to the range tomorrow. I had remounted an HVT lug FH so went to check the alignment again. I noticed the can had unscrewed slightly from the closer plate. Looking at the instruction manual (which is for the HVT not Quicksand specifically) it shows a locking roll pin to secure the closer plate. Was this omitted on the Quicksand, as I don't see it? Is hand tightening the tube to the closer plate while it is mounted sufficient and safe?
Last time I had it out, the groups opened up from .75 MOA to 1.8 MOA with the Quicksand mounted which certainly has not been my experience before with other rifles. Its on a new Ruger scout though so not sure if it was the can or something else as it was the first time I shot this particular rifle suppressed with it on.
