What is best subsonic 22lr on a budget?

Post by ranb »

I like CCI standard velocity as well as Winchester T-22. Ely and Remington subsonic suck; low velocity and high stdev. Any suggestions? Thanks.

My vote is for CCI standard ($25/500) or Blazer ($14/500) out of a sbr/pistol.

CCI Standard all the way I love them. Speaking of which I need to place an order for 5k in the next few days.

In my CZ-452, its CCI standard velocity, Aguila subsonic, and Winchester subsonic truncated cone hollow points, these are very affordable and accurate in my rifle.

My 10/22 prefers CCI standard velocity.

I don't bother with the super expensive subsonic match .22 ammo, I am happy with the accuracy I am getting with the above mentioned ammo. I shoot mostly at 25-50 yards. 8)

Aguila Subs get my vote every time, going by the best , budget, and sub sonic criteria.

Another vote for Aguila subs. Very accurate out of my Savage and single digit to low teen standard deviation in velocity over my chrony. Smell like cat piss though.

Aguilla subs! Followed by CCI or Win Dynapoint - used in Ruger 10/22 and Mk 2 pistol
and Old russian standard velocity for use in my Romanian bolt gun.

I have good luck with Remington Subs with both my ruger mk3 22/45 and my savage bolt gun. For critter removal I prefer CCI Subsonic Segmented Hollow Points.

I like the Remington subs. I buy them by the case from my local shop. The only issue I have is they do not work in my m16 on fa.

Ely is made by Remington (I t hink they're owned by them outright, not sure about that).

I've actually had pretty good luck with the one batch of Ely I've tried (in a Buck Mark & a Charger).

My wife put about 50 rounds into a 3" group at 100 yards over about an hour at the range shooting from a bipod, then right before we left she put the stock on a sandbag and shot a clean target. She is a fan of sandbags now.

Really? That's for CCI? (Unfortunately I'm not near any "big box" stores like that but I may drive across town...)

Through my CZ452 and TAC65 combo CCI SV go supersonic or at least trans in the winter time. I was just shooting yesterday and temps were around 32F and CCI SV cracked every shot. I then shot some Win SuperX HP Subsonics and they were all subsonic...Love those rounds. I shot some CCI Quiet as well and of course they were QUIET! CCI CV are good to go in warmer temps though. I've won a few local TOP SHOT competitions with my CZ/TAC65/CCI SV setup.

CCI Standard all day long. I do 1/2" groups at 50 yards all day long out of my browning t-bolt.
