Hunting is nice, making Hunting your way of living is better but Hunting with your Son, F--k !, that’s paradise !
My Son is back from Alaska: Too cold (I told to Yael, “he’ll be back before Christmas” … not far). He came back 3 days ago.
My Brother got a new Ranch in the South, near the River. I work for him part time, he makes Money with big stacks (Red Deer Trophies) and allow me to Hunt WildBoars for free, mainly for meet but I like big Tuskers, you know.
I have several Trail Cameras to control deer population (I’m supposed to be the guy that shots for control, you know …. And I do ) but I use the Cameras to track Tuskers. My Brother doesn’t care, he knows me … as far as the job is done, no worries !
So, that’s background. Let me go to the point:
P: Are you tired ?
A: NO !
P: Do you want to go Hunting ?
A: (Looking at Yael) … well, I … , you know, just arrived. Mom ? (Yael moves head up and down …)
A: Ok, Yes, where are we going !
P: We are Hunting down the river.
A: Where ?
P: At the new XXXX place.
(15-30 seconds wait, fix looking at his eyes, He’s moving his head side-2-side, tension, …)
A: What are we Hunting ?
P: Tuskers !
5 minutes and my truck was ready to go. I told him, 2 or 3 days. Fly Camps, Hunters in the Lodge. Called my Bro and that was OK.
A: So, did you buy some SST ? (He is referring to his .308WM, Mauser)
P: No.
(He is driving. Looked at me like WTF are you talking about !)
P: You are going to shoot with my new Gun
(Silence, not happy …)
It’s 8 pm now, 9:30 pm is dark. We’ve got some Moon, not much but enough. We are looking at a dead Cow (carcass).We are about 150 yards away from it.
At 11:15 I hear like a thing walking: Looked at my Son: Great !, He is sleeping !. Got my Binoculars and Bingo !, a Big one is coming !
Looking at the Moon, I figured out by 3 am we were done.
P: Wake up !, the big one is eating !. Punch, punch, … Wake up MTF !
A: What ?
P: It’s eating the carcass, you see … !!!!, Take it !
A: (still not really waked up) WTF are you talking about !
(Pig is gone now ….)
It’s 2 am now. I’m afraid Moon goes to sleep. I can smell the ….
P: Wake up, don’t move, open your eyes, take the Rifle and …
A: Pisssssssssssst … Blop … Done …
… For some reason, I did run off straight to the Pig and … It’s dead !
