Retired Air Force Col. Running for Democrat Seat

Post by ick »

Seems like someone that needs some campaign support.

Retired Air Force Col. Martha McSally

She is running to take the Gabrielle Giffords seat off of the democrats.

I knew her back when she flew for my dad at DM. Not someone I want to vote for. She wasn't all that great a pilot either.

One of the comments mentioned she married an A-10 pilot and he became the joke of the base after they got divorced. Any inside information on that?

I can ask. She was pretty much the laughing stock anyway since she was a shitty pilot. She was trying to be the GI Jane of the A-10 world but wasn't anywhere close to the hype. She also wasn't the first woman pilot in combat. If I remember correctly that belongs to a Martha McKenna who flew with the 75th FS out of Pope AFB.

As a pilot my dad was not impressed, and without giving any information away she screwed up at least once with potentially dangerous consequences and if it wasn't for some quick intervention she would have been on the receiving end of an Iraqi SA-2.

There are better female A-10 pilots, those that are in it to be good pilots and perform their jobs to the best of their abilities as a pilot, not using their sex as a crutch in a political plaything.

She was NOT a good wingman. That sentiment is shared by many pilots who flew with her. Not a good reputation to have when other fighter pilots are making that judgement.

Interesting that it seemed she would be up against Gifford's husband, who is a NASA astronaut and Navy aviator. From what I have read he is not running at this point.
