ATF continued.......

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

All NFA laws apply.

TAC-Stratus
SWR-Trident

Mailed: 4/19
Check cashed: 04/26
Pending: 5/15 Forms sent back, incomplete. Also Under Sheriff signed forms, Sheriff was out of town. ATF says Sheriff must sign or show proof the U.Sheriff has authority to sign in Sheriffs absence. Back to square one. :(
May 29, finally got Sheriff sig. and over night delivered to ATF.
Approved: May 31
Recieved: June 4
Picked up: june 5

First can, via the SLOW way. Took 2 weeks to get L.E. signoff because the local Police chief does'nt believe the citizens have any good reason to own a sound suppressor. So I am going the trust route on the next one.

This is my first application. So far I am still under the 30 day period, but it seems that it will be longer. Does it get better after the first experience ? I hope it will, due to the fact that a file in my Trust name will be established...

thats the way it used to be-your first one took longer(mine took six months) but than after that generaly a month-now its gone superfast Arevalo's first one was super quick and my 8th and 9th one seems to take the cake with about 9 days and its an individual, wont know fer sure till I get my paperwork back but your trust should be 25 days tops Ive seen a handful on this board go quicker than that and the individuals go about 20-35 days.

yep,ATF has really tightened up it's process and trust seems to be the quickest,I think my 9 days for an individual is the exception.
