Friend of mine just bought my LWRC M6A2 upper, now I need another 5.56 upper. It will see an equal amount of on off suppressor use.
Heres what I'm looking at
LWRC spr upper
Novekse
KAC, if they are selling the new ones
Please feel free to make suggestions.

Re: Help me choose a new upper
All the normal questions-
What type of shooting?
Budget?
What other uppers/ARs do you have?
SBR?

Re: Help me choose a new upper
Good call Jason.
Pretty much all target shooting, budget doesn't matter. I have a acc 300 blkout upper as well as the KAC xmas set up some of us are working on. I can't have SBR as I'm in MI.

There's no reason to ever overpay for LWRCi's garbage regardless of the kind of shooting.
KAC is generally overpriced for what you get. Good stuff, but expensive.
I'd go Noveske of those choices without even knowing what you want to do with it.

Re: Help me choose a new upper
I
Noveske #1, KAC #2, and wouldn't buy an LWRC. Not a biased opinion because I own an LWRC upper and have fed a considerable amount of ammo through Noveske and KAC uppers.) I absolutely love the Noveske switchblock uppers.markm wrote:There's no reason to ever overpay for LWRCi's garbage regardless of the kind of shooting.

Re: Help me choose a new upper
I really did like the LWRC upper I had the rail was just too short and I wasn't a fan of how heavy it is, so Noveske is sounding like the way to go for right now, I picked up a Gen2 lower and love it. I was also looking at the Larue PredatOBR. Im just not a fan of the barrel they put in it.
Here are a couple questions for the noveske.
Is the Switch block really useful? Shouldn't most of these DI guns run good suppressed and unsuppressed?
If the switch block is not needed i was really hoping they would start selling some uppers with that new lightweight rail. I really like the looks of it!

Re: Help me choose a new upper
I own piston and DI guns that work great suppressed and can be run really hard without issues, but my personal favorite is the switchblock. Do some research on Noveske's website and figure out which upper fits your desires the most, you won't be disappointed either way.

Re: Help me choose a new upper
Very cool, I really like the idea of the Noveske. What is the advantage of the switch block though. Does it just reduce gas to improve feeding or something?
Re: Help me choose a new upper
The Switchblock has a second gas port sized for use with the silencer. It won't run harder as the cyclic rate is reduced back to normal. It will reduce felt recoil, fouling, and some of the gas blowback.

Well thank you Todd, I can certainly see where the advantage would be there!

Re: Help me choose a new upper
Todd, is Noveske planning on doing any uppers with the new NSR rail?
Thanks - Tom
Thanks - Tom
Re: Help me choose a new upper
I don't think anything new is on the website yet because almost everything is out of stock. Rifles and uppers are going out with the NSR, so check with a dealer or give us a call and we can probably find you a dealer with them.

If budget is truly not an issue, I like the LaRue Tactical Stealth upper.

Re: Help me choose a new upper
I actually looked at the predatOBR but I don't like the barrels they put in them.
Re: Help me choose a new upper
Meh, unless it's a .308 there's really no reason not to go with a Noveske.kusekchris wrote:If budget is truly not an issue, I like the LaRue Tactical Stealth upper.

Re: Help me choose a new upper
Yeah, thats pretty much where Ive landed. I found a distributor and am ordering one with the new 13.5" rail on tuesday. Should be a great upper, and I guess they're pretty damn light.
